Myst CD32 ISO

Off topic, but I had a quick look at a MYST CD32 ISO as well, including NVRAM saving (you need to quit the game in order to trigger writing a file stored in RAM: to the NVRAM, similar to stuff Cobe and I have done in the past). I'm not certain that it's properly loading or saving though.

The CD32 maestro is back! Damn that Myst! i spent many attempts to get it too boot, so glad you had a look and got it working, def will try this later, nice one Earok!

Btw, if its working ok, i would start a new CD32 Myst thread for this big news! I can do a cover once its confirmed working on real hardware.

That was quick, cheers! Btw do you mind moving it to the CD32 sub forum please?

earok 10 September 2018 09:14

Eeep.

@AmigaJay you're more than welcome to take over this project and publish if it's working for you. Though admittedly I haven't tested on real hardware, just WinUAE.

Haha. Honestly I want you to take it :P otherwise I might never get around to bundling it up, sorting out covers etc and hosting it. Same goes for T-Zero but I'm not sure I'd be able to get it stable anyway.

If you're not interested, I'll look into publishing it myself sometime.

excellent. Let's hope it runs sufficiently fast. You can have bad surprises on real hardware between CD access and crap memory/CPU when on WinUAE everything flies.

this is how i played myst soon as it came out i bought it though my cd32 by that time was upgraded with a sx-1 and 8mb
back then the game was awesome and i was surprised i could play it on cd32
had microcosm too but that had like 10min of fun then was shelved
most of that fun was just watching the full motion vids then
i think i might still have the cd but its buried along with amiga format and aminet sets which i know some started to rot

So MYST just opens up a HAM6 Custom screen and reads Mousedirections under IDCMP ?? But that would be a lot of CD reading. How did you align the files on the CD for maximum reading access??

Wow, amazing news! Thanks earok, you do some fantastic stuff.

Pardon my ignorance, will this work on a stock CD32?
