UAE4Droid Amiga emulator for Android released

Old new this but did a search and found nothing about it:

UAE4Droid is a port of UAE4ALL to Android. I have been playing with it for a few hours and it works quite well for a dirty port.

One for the iPhone would be betterer! :)

antonvaltaz 05 March 2010 18:01

Is it usable for games on a HTC Hero?

tonyyeb 10 March 2010 14:18

I have played SWOS on it (tricky with onscreen joystick!), Indianapolis 500 and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge.

I think games like Indy Heat will be best (little screen move, small sprites, simple sounds). Ill give it a go soon.

tonyyeb 10 March 2010 16:59

Tried Indy Heat but I have a 'special' version that needs both left and right mouse buttons to be pressed at boot up... don't think RMB is mapped to anything.

Which Android phone do you have? I've been considering getting one but justifying the phenomenal (£400) cost is hard.

I have a HTC Magic running Cyanogen's ROM. Much speedier than stock, allows for apps to be installed to the SD, swap partition and other tweaks. Can be bought from e-tailors for around £250ish SIM free last time I looked.

I'm getting the HTC Desire when its launched next month. Its a stunning device! Its gonna be expensive though! :D

Android FTW!

Alexh - mine was 'free' as part of an 18-month contract, £25 per month with T-Mobile incl. 'unlimited' data.

UAE4Droid should run very well on any 1GHz Snapdragon based Android phone I expect. Twice the CPU power of my phone and stuff runs quite well on that as it is.

Anyone had a look at the odroid?

Pretty neat but pricey. I'd rather have my PSP with a custom firmware than this. Android games are pretty poor, especially compared to PSP games.

Got UAE for Android working now.

Double what I'm currently paying. £12 / month with O2 gets me 300 texts per month, unlimited mobile broadband and unlimited 24Mbit ADSL+ broadband. I'll have to think long and hard before getting a smart-phone.

Got my new HTC Desire this week so ill be giving UAE4Droid a go on that soon. Shame you can't plug in a mini joypad or use bluetooth???

I think you can use a Wiimote on some iphone & Android titles (it is after all just a bluetooth device)

Just searched the market on my phone and found one app that shows it is possible. Just need to make the next step and allow it interact with other applications.
