PD Floppy drive sound?

Do you happen to have a public domain, redistributable version of the Amiga internal floppy drive sounds, or do you know where I can download one, with its PD, or CC0 license?

Thanks :)

The Amiga internal floppy drive sounds are copyrighted?

Marcuz 15 January 2018 16:16

I don't think so, but their recordings might be, to the person who recorded them; I'm looking for a copy that is not.

Try this link and you will find some sort of the drive sound for Amiga500.
WinUAE

they are good, thanks, but there's no copyright info :/

Well, for that you have to ask Toni Wilen, the author behind WinUAE. Out of your postings counter you should know about that great man and the emulator he improve week after week.

Post count? Everybody who ever read a post of mine knows that I choose to read EAB as Everyday's Absurdism Board. I don't know about any emulator.

No, I did ask him, of course, but he did not remember who created them in the first place. I tracked a couple of threads about them and asked a couple of other members that might be the ones who created them in first place, but they are mostly inactive here these days.

Really? Why not record the sounds yourself or would you like me to record the sounds of my floppy drive for ya?

Would they all be the same manufacturers of floppy drives for Commodore Amigas? Weren't there several? I sincerely doubt that all Amiga 500s or whatever produced during the whole lifespan of the Amiga would have the same floppy drives. Surely they would all sound different?

Is this for the Amiga floppy drive sound preservation society?

I've borrowed a zoom mic from a friend to record audio, but my Amiga's drive is dead; if you could record a bit if an Amiga drive booting up Workbench, or something like that and give your permission to use it, it would be great! Thank you!:)
