P-UAE Recommended settings to improve performance and prevent sound issues.
I have the Retroarch P-UAE core running on a modded SNES Classic mini console and I'm available to play WHDLOAD games through it surprisingly well for the most part for OCS/ECS games. AGA and other demanding games nearly always however have sound stutter and/or distortion. I'm looking for expertise and recommendations on how I can tweak my UAE file to get these games performing better without the sound issues. The SNES classic *should* be powerful enough to emulate an A1200 but P-UAE is an older emulator that is not actively supported. Unfortunately it's the only option we have right now for this console. Here's my UAE file -
use_gui=no show_leds=true chipset=aga cpu_type=68020 cpu_speed=real chipmem_size=4 fastmem_size=8 gfx_center_vertical=simple gfx_center_horizontal=simple gfx_width=640 gfx_height=512 sound_output=exact sound_channels=mixed kickstart_rom_file=/etc/libretro/system/kick31.rom hardfile=read-write,32,1,2,512,/etc/libretro/system/WHDLoad.hdf hardfile=read-write,32,1,2,512,/media/amiga/banshee.hdf Here's the configuration options available for P-UAE https://github.com/amigrave/PUAE/blob/master/docs/configuration.txt Any help to getting this to run better would be greatly appreciated. The Amiga has a large fanbase even among the console crowd so getting Amiga classic games more exposure would be great! |
