Ninja Gaiden II (working version please)

I've tried every single cracked version in the Tosec. All versions crash after ACT-3.

The game asks for a new disk. But after the other disk is inserted.. poof.. blank screen.

Whoever it was who took the screenshots for HOL couldn't get any further either.

No SPS or WHDLoad version exists.

Bad crack or emulation problem?

I'm attaching my savestate if you want to take a look. You need to insert the ADF's after you have loaded my savestate.

Sorry m8 same thing for me after the cutscene "please insert disk 1 ???" strange.
Not even a whdload exist.

Toni Wilen 18 November 2011 20:13

Something suspicious is going on..

I didn't get any blank screens but it gets stuck in infinite loop ("loop: bra loop") after returning from some other unrelated subroutine (=return address in stack is bad) which probably means there is some hidden copy protection/checksum check.

Interestingly it also calls exec functions that have been patched..

For me it seems some files are on the wrong disk!!
Copy all "Act 3" related files to disk 1 and it should work or try zoned disk 1.:)

Retroplay 18 November 2011 21:20

That worked great mai.
Strange nobody ever noticed that until now.

Indeed, there exists also no fix or similar.
Anyway try inbuilt cheat "Esc + R" for next levels.

Thanks for the fixed disk. But now I'm stuck again :(

I have played to level 7:1. But there are gfx glitches all over the place. I have tried to change disk to another. But it doesn't help. So I guess all ADF images is broken.

same here in WinUAE, will check it on real machine, at least there is no file corruption.
Ninja Gaiden 2 seems to be very, very rare!

Maybe SPS-team got any modified version of this game(for file comparing)?

...same problem on real A500, so corrupted data or even a bad crack.
Noone owns an Original of this game?

dlfrsilver 08 December 2011 11:03

This game is uber rare, i don't have it myself in my collection..... Maybe asking to someone like celbulba if he has it ?

IFW 08 December 2011 12:23

No, we don't have it dumped.

mai 08 December 2011 19:29

Anybody around here, who can take a look at the available cracked version, what could be the reason for graphical corruption, maybe its impossible without working Original.:(

Retro1234 08 December 2011 21:31

Did you check it on real machine?
maybe if someone can get the graphic dimensions with GFXRip could determine if the graphics are corrupt on the disk the main sprite is not affected? or just wait until dlfrsilver gets a copy :)

As i wrote, i have checked on real A500, it occurred the same problem.

Retroplay 09 December 2011 19:35

Let's just hope it's only crack related and not a problem with original disks too.

Remember RoboCop on C64 ? ;)
Shame on you Ocean. :p

I would be grateful, if any capable member(St.....y:help, G.....d):help in this forum, would take a look on this game.
The member, who has started this thread has to finish his longplay!

There was a similar problem recently in the Snakes! thread, which turned out to be caused, not by a corrupted graphic, but by a single bit elsewhere in the disk image which had not been salvaged correctly from the original disk.

This was eventually solved by salvaging that block correctly, but demonstrates that Boo Boo makes a point worth pursuing.

Ive only tried one set of ADFs from planet emu -Ninja Gaiden II - The Dark Sword of Chaos (1991)(Gametek)[cr CSL][t +4 Goonies]

Might be worth check all the ADFs

I cant get the dimensions for the Tiles GFXRip even though they seem to be 16*16
but it seems the Tiles are stored in file PageX.RAW you can view them in game simply by renaming them Page1.RAW and file Page6.RAW does seem to be corrupt.

Ill check all the ADFs if not ill put a request into project.Sprites as with the correct dimensions it might be possible to replace them falling that just have to wait for a copy to turn up:)
