Turrican Anthology

Anyone know a good program to make 3D dvdcase images like above? the 1 im using does not have dvd templates, only normal game box as you might have noticed.

BippyM 10 April 2007 15:31

it seems a bit fat

is it standard amaray dvd-case dimensions?

Are you using high-res scans or shitty 72dpi scans etc.. I only use 300dpi (min) scans/images, the actual layout etc is fab tho :D

Can you attach them to eab too as opposed to using shittyshack pls

TheBoss 10 April 2007 15:43

The dimensions should be fine as I printed 1 out, it fits fine in my dvd case of Battlefield 2. The 3D images are taken with a standard game box size since the program i use dont have dvd case so they got a small resizing.

Added a direct photoshop pic to view things better.

BippyM 10 April 2007 15:50

It looks fantastic, there are however a couple of things.

you are using 3 different logo's fonts for the turrican writing, the one on the back is obviously an ingame shot, but the front and spine should be the same logo :) (where is the spine logo from, I cannot find it in any amiga screenshots etc.

Try and avoid using screenshots as logo's etc in general as the 320x256/200 size doesn't resize too well, and looks not so good when it is (again spine logo )

An idea.. why not create a spanning spine set version too, that would indeed be awesome :)

TheBoss 10 April 2007 16:07

Alright I see what you mean by the 3 different logos but which one should I then keep, the front or spine logo?

I found the spine login on a turrican site, it was their logo, I edited it slightly to fit my needs ;)

A spanning spine set is what I had in mind when i started work, heeh the roman numeral will continue with II, III so it looks like a box set :)
I guess the other members will want a peace of Turrican work too :D but as long we can make a identical spine set, its no problem :great

BippyM 10 April 2007 16:11

Keep the front logo as that is not pixellated and is the official logo used in the day

The spine is a modified turrican3 logo.

If you are doing a spanning spine then get rid of the numerals and find/create a suitable pic to span the 3 boxes

TheBoss 10 April 2007 16:22

Ah I see, so an image for the spine which spans 3 volumes, ok :)
uploaded new version with logo corrected

BippyM 10 April 2007 16:26

New version looks better :D

Now to Turrican2, I assume you will be keeping the same layout etc

TheBoss 10 April 2007 16:37

Yes that is what I had in mind if nobody objects to the idea :)
The Triology edition can have another design though, I see no problem with that.

Dizzy 10 April 2007 16:45

wow that is really good :)

That cover would kick ass in every gamecollection ;)

Zetr0 10 April 2007 20:13

looks clearly AWSOME!

Predabot 03 February 2009 22:33

How did this end up then? Did you complete the box? And in a big, nice format?

TheBoss 14 February 2009 16:19

My main hard drive crashed on me so I lost the work i had done on it sadly.

Roms47159 19 August 2015 10:10
