My gift to the Amiga community

I can remain silent no longer. I have placed a gift to the Amiga community in the zone. It is an ISO that allows you to run Amiga OS 4.0 on a PPC Mac Mini, enjoy.

AmigaMac 16 December 2007 18:58

Someone please give me upload rights so I can upload the ISO!

CodyJarrett 16 December 2007 19:03

You need to join the Zone group:

This works really??
:shocked

AmigaMac 16 December 2007 19:21

Yes, give it a try.

_ThEcRoW 16 December 2007 19:28

And only 2,96 mb?. Will try to open it with stuffit and see if it grows in size. Just 2,96 seems suspicious.

Charlie 16 December 2007 19:28

OMG! :cool
If this doesn't go against forum rules: Please, please, please Zone this. (or provide a link)

I know I've been pretty scathing of OS4, but that's more to do with the politics of releasing for 'horrifically expensive / outmoded / non-existent' hardware.

OS4 for x86 would be more sensible in my opinion - but, hey. I've been hanging around the Amiga community long enough not to hold out any expectations...
...yes OS4 is a pretty pointless release anyway, but I wouldn't be doing Amiga stuff if it was for sensible reasons!

I'll leave it up to Zetr0 to roll out the official welcome. ;)

(Oh, yes: "Ho, ho, my sides are veritably splitting with mirth." in advance if this proves to be a hoax. :rolleyes)

Retro-Nerd 16 December 2007 19:30

This is probably an install mini-cd for the Amiga OS4 cd or something.

AMIGAZ 16 December 2007 19:43

Does it work on an eMac too? :D

So now we need OS4 prelease zoned too if we are going to have a chance trying OS4 on a Mac

_ThEcRoW 16 December 2007 19:55

I have been trying it out on pearpc but no luck.
Is this really valid?. If it works on a mac it should work on pearpc because i installed the powerpc version of tiger succesfully on my athlon computer.

iSteve 16 December 2007 19:56

No luck on an iMac G3/233...

_fUstEs_ 16 December 2007 19:58

Good notice, please upload any screen.

Pyromania 16 December 2007 20:00

I think he said it only works on macmini

iSteve 16 December 2007 20:02

Well, it should boot on any G4 Mac if that's the case...
Motorollin' over at Amiga.org has a G4 mini and it won't boot there either.

motorollin 16 December 2007 20:05

Hoax, as expected.

AmigaMac, i want my CD-R and 30 minutes of my time back!!

Graham Humphrey 16 December 2007 20:09

Why are some people sad enough to waste time doing things like this?

AmigaMac 16 December 2007 20:12

I give you guys a gift and you don't believe me? On bootup please press Ctrl alt O F, then type.

boot cd:\\slb

Shoonay 16 December 2007 20:12

Maybe it just works on AmigaMac's Mini Mac? :D

motorollin 16 December 2007 20:18

Post a video if you want people to believe you. Ctrl Alt O F does nothing on my Mac Mini.
