Another Ami-Express BBS Returns!
Hello,
After burning out two A1200's by running them 24X7 to host my old BBS, I have finally made the leap over to WinUAE. With the help of folks from here and our Ami-Express Sysops FB group, I have it taking traffic via telnet. It can be reached via telnet from your favorite terminal program here: Spatulacity.seeglow.com I wrote up the process of virtualizing my physical A1200 for the project with the Spiceworks IT community here. I would love to see some of the old scene stop by for a little BBS nostalgia! Cheers, ~illy |
Interesting stuff, and thanks for the link. I'm glad the second resurrection wasn't quiet as hard work as the first!

Great stuff, I didn't manage to get on any BBS back in the days, so I can finally visit them :D

Is Ami-Express freely available these days, or do you still need a key for it? And how do you get it to work over network like that and not old-fashioned modems? I used to run a BBS a long, LONG time ago and have pretty much forgotten everything about Ami-Express even though that was what I used....

Black Beard has put a lot of work into his sysop in a minute archive.
http://www.amiexpress.co.uk/amiforum...c.php?f=11&t=9 He has everything set up so you just have to download his package and you should have /X up and running in no time. All calls are handled by telnetd.device these days but I think BB has also setup a modem on his board as well. |
