Req. Sound Conversion Information

I remember when i sold my amiga gear and near all, way back. Thee was talk of a way to convert amiga sound modules/trackers/meds/exotic (mod for now) musics into a better composition.

I think it was to make a tune of the mod. By remixing it so the samples were more center aligned. Was this just as we can do now by recording with the pc and adding a filter with cooledit for example.

I do remember hearing a couple of the tunes and they were far supperior to the original song. Harshness gone of the samples, and all samples were in a better sound possition in the stereo sound dimension.

Anyone name what i might be talking about, and can it still be used today with WinUAE. Would be interesting to convert some tunes for contrast and difference. Moreover when pl;ayback in the car i don't need to adjust the other stereo channel towards me more. It disturbs other passengers that they don't hear the stereo in stereo. :)

Edit Update:

I now wonder what i read and listened to long ago was Prelude or Samplitude or Samplitude OPUS. If so did they just resample each sound sample. And rearrange them in a song composition or a tracker format.

This we can easily do with a pc sound card today. Resample each each sample - no thank you, original sound is better. Though using delitracker or eagle player to do the song composition re-arranging and realtime recording on the pc. To give a tracker or wav that is stereo centered not just to left and right samples. That remind me how mixing was done in the late sixties to early 70's for stereo. Although they were very well done and was more stereo central. Even though still today i do like to listen to those early stereo hits recordings. On only the left or right stereo track in mono sound, beatles when i'm 64 so on.

Please do comment if you think, i'm thinking correctly for this. Or if there is a better way of converting an amiga tune. All for the pleasure of stereo sound that is not missable on the left or right channels on playback. Sure i could just make it mono, not an option. Mono is for the pre 60's music only.

Maybe in the future after i have made good stereo conversions. I would love to convert them to 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1, or whatever flavour is the best at the time. All those samples playing, from all dirrections will just be so :cool to listen to.

This feels more like a blog, no one has replied to this thread. Could it be that this is posted, in the wrong part of this forum. Or just posted on the wrong forum.
