I'm not sure how authentic this article is, but if true then it's a great victory for the preservation of software:

I think old software has already been exepmt from the DMCA since 2003, so I guess this is the 3-year refresh of that exemption.

Old or not, I guess at least news such as this steps things in the right direction. Not that it makes a bit of difference to hindering our collections. ;)
