A4000CR (Rev D) coin battery replacement
Hi,
I've got an A4000CR which has a CR2335 coin battery fitted from the factory. Anyone with the same motherboard had any experience of replacing it? Maybe with a coin cell socket? IIRC it comes from the factory without a coin cell holder instead it is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced without soldering? I seem to remember that the space on the motherboard should take a standard coin-cell battery holder? Any feedback appreciated before I strip it down and get the soldering iron out. |
A "standard" coin cell holder won't fit, because there really is no standard. The distance between the pins of the holders vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
There are, however, adapters that use a small PCB below the holder. That's the thing you should be looking for. |
Thanks for the feedback.
I wonder if anyone has the A4000CR PCB layout files? Or has one available and can measure me the distance between the pins? I'll be able to do it myself in a few days time but it would be nice to get a part ordered today. |
I have an a4000 Rev D motherboard. The coil cell adapter from Amigakit fits fine. I replaced mine about 2-3 months ago.
