Minkey - Possible new Amiga Platformer

Hiho... just wanted to show some improvements of my new try creating a platformer game for Amiga.

https://youtu.be/_TfsXXah6Yo

I am working on it since Covid19 Outbreak and at the moment there are 11 Levels finished.... The video shows Level 11. :-)

It runs on standard A500 with 512k Chip and 512k Slow memory.

The main game engine is 90% finished (as it was in R.E.R.O.) and I am waiting for some new tilesets for further levels.

There are also more colorful levels ready with nice copper'ed backgrounds, I will post them soon.

Hopefully this will end up in a complete game this year.

Greets & stay safe !!

Looks nice, I like the mouse character and the animating background elements :)

Looking forward to this one!

Looks really good and mouse is cute. What have you used to program it?

Looks like a potentially fun game Alpha One, keep at it :).

Nice one my friend :great

...was wondering when you'd post the news about this new gem that you're doing ;)

I was fortunate enough to play test the first 10 levels of world 1 a few months back...

Good game, but not easy.

It runs on 4 bitplanes, so 16 colors and additional colors for the Playersprite.

JoeJoe 26 January 2021 08:41

Really colorfull with 16 colors only!

jurassicman 26 January 2021 09:09

It looks very nice! I can't wait to see the game released! ;)
Keep up the good work!

Alpha, you should post some screenshots or videos of the earlier stages; which are very colourful and bright ;)

The later stages I played, I think from 7 onwards are dark and underground like level 11 that you posted.

It's still same colors but the copperusage of course makes them a bit more colorful. :-)

roondar 26 January 2021 10:42

Oooh, Turrican II style Copper gradients... Nice!

That's looking fantastic! Can't wait to give it a go. I think the constant footsteps and jumping sound effect could soon become tiresome though. Maybe there could be an option to turn those two off and keep the rest?

Yeah it may get annoying hehe.

Normally there should be music or soundfx... I just need a person to create some mods. Its all included, just the mods are missing. :-)
