fs-uae-launcher crashes after update to (K)Ubuntu 18.10 (emulator itself is fine)
Hello Amigans,
after upgrading from Kubuntu 18.04 to 18.10, I can no longer run the FS-UAE launcher. It still works in a Mint 19 test install I have in a corner of the same machine (based on Ubuntu 18.04). I tried the version from the stock repos (2.8.3 (the package says it's 2.8.4?)) as well as the 2.9.7 devel version from the fengestad PPA; same result. The emulator itself is still fine -- it's just the Python frontend that's borked. 18.10 still uses Python 3.6; the fix suggested for Python 3.7 by a Fedora 29 user earlier on this board does not help. I tried it without an existing configuration; no change. Console output: http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/2HCK2SkDVB/. Sometimes it says malloc_consolidate(): invalid chunk sizeinstead of free(): invalid pointer. The log file mentioned at the start is empty. Would love any advice. :) |
Hitting this on latest arch as well.

Hey @Anjune,
Workaround for me was to use the portable build - https://fs-uae.net/download-devel#linux |

This seems to still be an issue, I got some more bug reports about it. I managed to reproduce this (only) when running FS-UAE Launcher in KDE.
Issue being tracked here: https://github.com/FrodeSolheim/fs-u...cher/issues/75 |
Version 3.0.3 released with a fix :)
