Outlandish request

I am not sure of the licensing issues with amiga games but would anyone out there be willing to put an .adf to amiga playable disk in exhange for some cash?

I have recently aquired an amiga and want to give my house mate a game we both enjoyed back in the day. However, I'm not a technical guy and the various walkthroughs and guides on this site outstrip my capacity.

I'm not sure if what i ask for is heresy/illegal but it would really make his day.

Thanks,

DrC

Welcome to the EAB, I am sure you will like it here, theres plenty of mischief to get into.

Sorry Zetr0 - couldn't resist.

Hello & welcome :)

Ahhh, yes it does get a little complex when you're not used to these things.

Getting a .adf -> floppy for use in a real Amiga is not so hard but how may depend on what hardware you've got...

Questions:
What amiga? - also do you know if it's expanded? Memory, hdd...
Access to a PC?
What game..? ( there may be practicable / commercial issues )

Basically: Compress .adf & put on 720k dos-floppy. Uncompress .adf on the amiga & write that image to a floppy with the Amiga...
...Some software is involved & how/what will be dictated to some extent by what-you-got.

( Sadly PC's can't generally read/write amiga-format discs so you have to get the image on the amiga somehow for it to do the job )

I'm sure someone will be able to help with the details...
...money? Kind to offer, but I'd suggest you hold on to it.

Another option may be to do a search on fleaBay & see if you can buy an original - will save the faffing if you'd rather not fiddle.

There's also the wonderful WinUAE ( amiga emulator for the PC ) that will use .adf's directly. Though not, I suspect, what you're after...

PS
