Desert Strike - anyone know the disk names?

I recently bought Desert Strike, and when checking the floppies which appear to be okay, I noticed that Disk 3 was named:

"Copy of Desert Strike 3"

....as if the disk had been copied with Workbench. Can anybody with the original game confirm what the disk is supposed to be called. As crazy as it sounds, I have a dim memory of a game being released with one of the disks being called "Copy of ......" so I'm not sure if I should speak to the seller about it.

don't worry anyway as the disks doesn't have any form of protection.

Official SPS 0112 ipfs is labelled
Desert Strike Disk 1
Desert Strike Disk 2
Desert Strike Disk 3

Hey Jean-Francois! :-)

The man himself. I didn't know that, but having bought it, as an original, I was keen to know that I'm not being messed about. This is not about being able to simply play the game, as I still have the rather excellent WHDLoad version, with extended funky loading music!

I'm more interested if I have received what I paid for.

Ah, many thanks. I think I will need to contact the seller.

Today I tried to see if the WHDLoad install could access the disks. I did not get as far as disk 3 because WHDLoad reported a checksum error on disk 1. I've e-mailed the seller.

Yes, they look like the first (EA) one. Although I noticed that disk 3 is slightly darker blue than the other two. I'm sure it's an honest mistake, but it's still a bummer. :-)

Angus floppy disks don't age well. It's 2019 and a lot of floppies probably are damaged if not stored properly.

Yeah, I remember you liked that loading funky music. It exists as a module too AFAIR. I may have it if you're interested.

No, you're quite right, but it was sold as in very good condition and it didn't work, and the data wasn't even original - even if the floppy was.

Yeah, if you had the module, if it's not a nuisance? :-)

p.s. (cheeky mode) Red Zone, no way the caches etc can be enabled, fast ram utilised to speed that bad boy up? It looks and sounds so damn good, but the framerate lets it down. :-)

@Angus: just zoned the module. I have the others too.

For Red Zone, it may interest me again to try to relocate code in fast memory, yes. Just took a beating with Pinball Prelude cd32 and some other project, I may try that for a change.

Thanks Jean-Francois, heading for the Zone now. Regarding Red Zone, I'm trying think of a way to express my enthusiasm - but I am speechless with joy! :-)
