I need MUI

I try to download from http://www.sasg.com/
but the file i get isn't complete, please upload a complete version in the zone...

Twistin'Ghost 13 April 2002 04:23

What do you mean by "Isn't complete"? If you mean it isn't the fully registered version, that's because it is not free. It is still being sold (from that very page) and thus will not be made available to download from here.

The only version available for download on that page is MUI v3.8 demo. Requesting current software still being sold and/or developed is taboo here.

If the SASG download is corrupt, then email them and let them know.

Try Aminet ?

kemppe 13 April 2002 12:32

Twistin': What I mean is that there is a file missing from the demo, because when i install it I get a message that say "Can't locate file" but it doesn't say wich file...

kemppe 13 April 2002 13:04

I downloaded Mui from animet, same problem.

The message i get now is Faild to open muilocale.library

This file i have, and it is in the right directory so i have no clue.

Can't just someone upload a working demo to the zone?

Twistin'Ghost 14 April 2002 01:58

Hmmm...and the file is in the libs directory of your boot disk, or more precisely, in Libs:? If it is, then I would email SASQ because it could be a bad line of code somewhere in their demo.

RetroMan 14 April 2002 02:13

Well, my version IS from Aminet and it works without any errors :confused I upped to the zone for you, just give it a try ...

oldpx 14 April 2002 02:27

I'm assuming you are using winuae.

If I remember correctly, there is a file with a blank name which has this icon -> :) . The error message actually describes the name of the file but it's blank anyway :p

This causes installation problems with WinUAE but I remember I have solved this problem. Maybe you should try a different WinUAE version.

I may be misremembering and talking about Magic Workbench rather than MUI btw.

kemppe 14 April 2002 02:56

Burseg: I think you have solved it, there is i file named _æ_ãæ_ when you unpack it.

This file is really strange, you can't move it, rename it or delete it.

I am using Winuae 0.8.21 realese 2, anyone else who has problem with MUI in this version???

The filename is actually " " (a single space). This is a problem because Windows filesystems can't support files with this filename. You might try extracting it to RAM first, and see if the installer fails to write the file, or ??? (If you're using an Amiga partition/disk or HDF this shouldn't be a problem).

Is it? Are there any versions after 3.8? I can't seem to find any.

Not for Classic, I guess he ment the MorphOS Version ;)

DJBase 23 July 2005 23:09

There is MUI3.9 for MorphOS and AmigaOS4. Also MUI4.0 is available as a first alpha for MorphOS. I believe MUI4.0 will also come for AmigaOS3.x
