Skippin driver when the CD-Drive have been removed.
On reading this thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=37400 I have a similar problem to solve.
Is it possible or is there a software/procedure/configuration able to auto-mount the CD driver ONLY if the CD drive is really and phisically plugged? (That is without stopping the A1200 'cause asking for the CD drive when I temporarily remove it). I have OS3.9 in my 1st A1200 and IdeFix in my 2nd A1200. |
I think the only way would be to disable the automount feature and manualy mount the cd when connected.

When booting your Miggy you can look for a harddrive and if it exists then do stuff - like assign paths on that particular harddrive. I did this on my 4000D when one of the harddrives kept vanishing for no reason :crazy
This was within the startup-sequence i.e. If Work:data exists then assign data: Work:data Or something like that - perhaps not in the exact wording required. Could you not do something similar with the CD Driver? It's not something I've tried but you never know it could work. Dave G :cool |
