Man, this thread took a shitty turn into a sad display of immaturity.

Only by one user who had and issue with well.. I have no idea to be honest. Maybe it was too much effort to disable the tapatalk signature!

And maybe I am just crazy for suggesting this is annoying! Actually as he told me in an aggressive PM, I am stupid and overreacting. I must be the only person in the world who wants these sigs gone
Oh, wait:

:rolleyes

Anyway, here's hoping RCK sees this and can get rid of this virus.

I'm with Akira. The tapatalk sigs are spam and after reading them (not only here) they bugging. Especially when the sig is longer then the user post. :) Some people are overreacting when they are told to disable signature. At least my experiences. Maybe ecs hat other problems or is involved in tapatalk.

If there is a easy solution to automatically remove them that would be great.

Thread went nuclear. What a shame :nuts

DamienD 24 November 2017 21:06

Yup :sad

...it happens on EAB occasionally, but there's only so much help / assistance people can offer + persistent moaning that we can take.

daxb 30 October 2018 13:38

A lot of tapatalk spam sigs to read currently. Maybe it is time to forbid/deactivate it now?

Ian 30 October 2018 13:43

Not sure it should be classed as annoying, certainly less so than some of the signatures some users have.

As it adds to the actual post it's hard to get rid of much easier for the user to disable it in the app.

As the plan is to move away from bulletin soon (ish) and use xenforum there won't be a tapatalk plugin.

Cannot see it as being worthwhile to sort now other than reminding the offenders that the rules say it should be disabled

daxb 30 October 2018 14:02

The user signatures can be disabled by the user via member profile. So that is not a problem. Unfortunately, telling user to disable sigs in the app is a never ending fight. I've read that sometimes (updates?) the app switch it on again. This is annoying for the user.

Is there already a timetable for the forum software switch?

Ian 30 October 2018 20:29

Tapatalk doesn't add it as a signature but as part of the post as I have previously stated.

It has nothing to do with the signature function of the forum.

daxb 30 October 2018 20:37

Yes I know. Of course they can't add signatures to a forum member account. Would be strange.

lesta_smsc 08 November 2018 00:52

Tapatalk has a built in signature feature. By default it advertises how the message was sent i.e. with Tapatalk, but it lets you select the forums you are registered with (through the app) and personalise your own signature for the said forums.

I have just disabled the signature completely... hopefully it saves the setting and not re-enables when it does a software update!

Guys, it seems of late I'm having to remind people to remove that annoying "Tapatalk" signature...

Please all, read the Rules & Help in relation to Signatures.

Thank you.

Amiga1992 08 January 2021 16:10

It's 2021 and these shit signatures still are all over the place, even from long-standing members like FOL who should know better.
