Or, in other words, it could come to pretty much any platform and we just don't know for sure.

it is possible they will go for such an engine for that, but, my humble opinion being that this newish 3d system has seen many iterations already, an approach more alike the original one, even completely in bitmap graphics, wouldn't hurt.

AB3D is one of my favourite games ever and I wouldn't mind seeing an Aliens-esque FPS (roll on Colonial Marines!), but I suspect T17 won't go down the FPS route with this new Breed as producing a AAA quality FPS is probably beyond their budget. I'd guess topdown or maybe isometric.

It could work on platforms like XBLA and WiiWare, but on any other platform going the retro way will only hurt sales. People only want 3D nowadays. I have even seen numerous people whine that their eyes hurt when they have to stare at a game based on the Quake 3 engine :s (meaning the gfx are too outdated and the game is no fun anymore)

i understand that point: in this run for technology, old is not interesting (of course i'm generalizing as any other aspect was not important now): if you want 3D do great entincing newest 3D possible.

else go for the ancient. plain old it is simply too recent

Team17 has confirmed that an Alien Breed remake will release next year. We have heard rumours that Team17 may not be using Allister Brimble for the audio. It would be crime not to have Allister Brimble as the musician, who as the composer of the original Alien Breed game, is responsible the incredible atmosphere of the earlier title which led to much of its appeal.
