A600

Reading a thread just a few below, chances are i will get flamed for this, but....

Is it even possible to transfer ADF's to an amiga 600? None of the ways i have read about work, as i cant mount stuff etc.

If someone could just tell me if it is actually possible, then i could stop trying to find out how to do it.

What makes you think it is impossible? You can transfer stuff to ANY Amiga, provided you have the right tools.

It gets harder as the configuration gets smaller, but it can be possible.

I thinki for an HD-less, 1MB A600, the best choice would be something like ADF Sender Terminal.

What is an ADF sender terminal? What is one likely to cost?

i think maybe i should change my question a little bit.

What i want to do is put a amiga game i downloaded onto a disk and play it in my Amiga 600. I have read the FAQ and stuff, and i tried to mount PC0 or something, but i couldnt do it on my A600, I just need another way to do this, if it is possible.

Thanks

If you don't know how to mount the disk, u will get a hard time getting the adf to the amiga. please try to RTFM (read the fucking manual), the workbench manual can be very usefull.

You could also make a LAN betwen your pc and amiga, but that's not an easy task either.

Workbench 2.0/2,05 does NOT have Crossdos builtin so you CAN'T mount the PC0: device

ADF Sender Terminal is a program that works even with very low spec Amigas... I think you need a copy of amigabasic though...

First things first: grab yourself a serial null-modem cable. I could hook you up with a disk for your Amiga with the needed transfer ap. I will just need your address, and I'll send it. Send me a PM!

i dont know much about the technical side of my amiga, would i need it to go in the parallel or serial port? and would any port on my pc be ok?
Can i just go into a comuter shop and say something like 'can i have a null modem cable with a 25 pin serial port at one end and a UBS at the other' or is that just relly stupid?

i have read that it should be serial to serial, and only use 7 pins, do shops just sell cables like this? or will i have to pull out some wires or something?

Yes it is Because serial has nothing to do with USB!

Just go to a shop and ask for a nullmodem serial cable. Tell them it needs to be 25-pin female at least in one side... if they have 25-pin to 25-pin cables, don't worry. Ask them for a serial 25 pin male to 9 pin female adapter. I am using that now on my PC and it works great.

The software i'm sending you will work only with this serial cable, so you have 2 weeks to get one I'll try to include CrossDOS or some such thing, too. Just in case. It still is quite useless if you have just a 1 meg A600 with no HD or external FDD.

Hmm.. I think if the cable is done right, it should have only 7 cables.. I bought one and it worked.

You can buy a package with a cable and 2 disk one for the amiga and one for the pc. This is a very easy to use package for making a connection betwen the pc and the amiga.
I'm sorry I don't know where you could buy it today, I bought mine for some years ago.

I have a version of (i think it is) dir opus, where it mounted a pc drev, so you could read pc disk on that program. Haven't used it for some years.

Hmm.. Looks OK but you should try it out first, I presume!! Look at the cables that surely would work here:
http://www.eyetech.co.uk/search.php?...SearchCat=LCEX

Anyway, hear DJay. The pack he reffers to is PC2Amiga. it's really nice and faster than any serial transfer program because it works through parallel. I bet you can buy it from the website I linked you to above, I just couldn't find it. Send them an email and ask them about a PC2Amiga pack.
