Joypads & Joysticks - Which one?

Can any one suggest what the best pad or joystick to use with a REAL Amiga is...

I used to have one of these...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=011

But the B button did not work - I had to use the Turbo button above it as the B button which was a pain...

I prefer to use a pad, like the old Sega Megadrive pads but so many of these are in such poor condition these days that I wondered if there was a newer or better alternative...

Your opinions are welcome...

FWIW: My all-time favourite joystick/pad is:

The Bug

I'm sure many (most) would disagree with me....

...Amigakit have a fair range.

The Bug - yes, I had one - great(classic) controller but for me a pad always just felt easier to use - Amigakit don't seem to have any decent pads listed?

I could never get on with the CD32 pad - it looked brilliant I thought but the directional pad was so tight...

Im using (not at the same time!) a cd32 pad, zipstick, competition pro 5000 and also have a one of those awful quickshot pro sticks.

Joysticks with micro switches are nice and accurate and feel very sturdy.
Any sega master system or megadrive pad will work as shown in IronClaw's post and also a cd32 pad if you can get hold of one (not too great though )

Competition Pro of course A MegaDrive pad isn't bad too, but make sure you have a CP ready too

Nope, this one. Todays micro-switches are much better. Get one, the gameplay is awesomly smooth and accurate with that stick.

That one - I see - aren't they a bit... stiff... not being funny but I hear mixed views on these... looks good though, might give one a try - I think Amigakit do this one.

I also read/heard mixed views. They are all wrong, believe me. It's a great joystick for Amiga games.

Yes it does I'm not 100% sure, but I think a few games even have an option to use the extra buttons for the MD pad.

It works fine. Button B is fire 1 and Button C is fire 2, when available. But it also sends +5V to the input port permanently (pin 5, iirc). You find a fix for that in the Aminet.

In my opinion the best joystick has to let me play Kick Off 2 or Goal WONDERFULLY.
I tried several controller like Competition PRO (Classic & 5000 series), Megastar, SpeedKing, ZipStick, classic Atari... and in my opionion the best joystick is the italian ALBATROS. It reacts fast only when you want and it has precision and lastability. I've 3 of them (2 from '89 & '90) and they work all like new!
I don't like joypads since I'm not able to play Kick Off 2 with them. However they work fine enough with other games like platforms and the original Sega Mega Drive PAD is the only controller I found to have a working and real 2nd fire button. I know some rare WHDLoad games support this feature.

This has been a useful thread - I want an ALBATROS and I've never even seen one!
Also a quickshot, a master system controller and a Competition Pro...

While I make my decision... I have only this to use - yes I have dug it out... see below...

As I said - the only problem with it is I have to use the middle "turbo" button as fire - has anyone ever attempted to re-solder and change this to make "B" fire - it would make life much easier... I did take the back off the controller and took a look inside but it's not that straight forward (to me...) idea's anyone?
