I was going to try the Acard now, but it isn't recognized. I've measured the volts using Amigakit's Psu and I've got everywhere (Dvd, BVision and the cables I've taked from the floppy connector) 4,6 volts. I don't know how the system is running.

Now I don't know if my Acard is broken with so much solder-desolder of the connectors or if it just won't boot with those volts (yes.... next time try it first...).

I do believe there are people running more things than I with Amigakit's PSUs. I'm starting thinking in using a Pico PSU, but I would like to try the ACARD and IDE adaptor before, giving somehow more volts there. I've thought in connecting some cable there to the ones of a Pico Psu I've got around here. I've just bought Ian's adaptor (Edit: Received, thank you).

EDIT: Je...jeje...jejeje.... It works!!! The Acard works!!! I had soldered the cables to one of the connectors I taked out the way round. You know, I don't have much room so it has to go out, and the connectors are male both, so I had to change from down to up. I've noticed and soldered the same cables (yes, you're right, they are 50 cables in each connector) the right way and it boots from the Scsi!!!

Now I've got to see why still I'm not getting the speed I hope to have.
This were the values with SysSpeed in Drive before:
Create File 3.59
Write File 3.12
Read File 2.69
Raw Read 2.71

Now I'm getting:
4.51, 3.47, 4.66 and 4.69. I know Mfilos could get 9.33 in the last value.
I'm using his settings too:

So I'm wondering: Can the diference be caused by the HD Cf card? I'm using the cheapest Kingston one, that I bought to try to solve the problem with the Pcmcia. I'm using PFS3 in it.

EDIT: I'm almost sure now that I didn't select the right jumper in the ACARD, that's why it was so slow, as my settings were doing nothing (wrong unit). I'll try when I'll receive the cd and the USB connector.

At last!!!
I knew that you must have done something wrong. At least now you learned that you won't mod something if you first haven't tested it unmodded

Difference in speed can be due to the CF but I'm not so sure of that.
I used SFS filesystem for the tests I got, but in general you shouldn't get much difference of using PFS3. You should use PFS3ds though if you stick with that Filesystem.

You are right about PFS3ds. It's for direct Scsi. I have to see if I used PFS3 or PFS3ds. I was only using this last in large hardrives, so perhaps I did it with PFS3

But now it will have to wait, as I'll be now desoldering this time the other connector... I don't have room, and I have to do it. Let's see.

I've got to make too another big hole in my miggy as I'll be doing something never seen before...

You know, the scsi can't boot for what I've heard OS4.1, so I'll have two Cf Hd's; one to boot from the Idefix and another to boot from Scsi. You know I've got the first Cf with an slot, so I can change it externally. So... how and where do you make another slot for the other Cf, and even more, leaving the floppy???

I will tell

Voilà (not an easy job):

You know I had used that place for the USB connectors, but I must be very lucky, as the card has the same height (in fact, they were a little tight). So I only have to search another place for a USB pendrive (I think I will only put one).

The ide card was a bit too large, so I had to cut a side of it, around 5 mm so the keyboard doesn't touch with it. I'm lucky too, as in that side the card doesn't have any traces. It has nothing there.

This is how it looks now:

What do you think?

It looks really neat Fernando. Good work.

For the USB header (if it's only 1) you can put it in the small gap between the CF2IDE and the screw hole...
Check mine here: http://mfilos.blogspot.com/2012/02/a...connector.html

Thanks mate. In fact Marios I must be the one that leaves more visits to your blog.... That's a nice place, but remember that I'm keeping the shielding (is it shielding or sheilding?). I was thinking to put it over the Pcmcia, but I'll have to see that.

EDIT: I was thinking it now, and I could put it over the new Cf board in a side too...
Edit: What I do like more is that it matches perfectly with the Pcmcia slot on the other side. It seems the place "made" for it to be. I can put the Usb over it so it will look as some kind of pannel for external connections, and to make it look better (centered) I can put a led beside it (to the left) for the Ethernet frequency (Edit: No, better on the right, over the other led), as I still have room under the Acard to put an USB Nic. Both leds for frequency and for the Scsi Cf board can be like the ones I've already bought as the ones that Phipscube installed (flat ones) http://www.ebay.es/itm/290645839031?...84.m1439.l2649 .

Edit: As my slimmer Dvd drives aren't recognized by now I've cutted the pins of the Idefix to have less height so I can use my 12,7mm height dvd drive.:

I'm still waiting for an straight usb connector to put over the Cf board (just glued, no pcb board just for the height of the hole), but I've decided to put another beside the ethernet connector. There isn't much room there, so I've taked out the cables to connect it.

This is how it looks now:

And this is the interior:

Edit: Yes, the connector is ugly; I changed it later.

Just thinking it now, I will cut a little the pcb board of the Nic under the usb connector. I filed it, but better cutted.

Ok, I've cutted it, tried the ethernet nic and the usb connector and both work. The nic isn't the one of Amigakit that I had to force it's class to make it run, but another which is showed as usbm9601eth.device (I'm not complaining about the other).

I've prepared the cables to not interfere with the floppy drive. Now it gets to it's place perfectly.

These are the photos now:

Edit: You see? The connector is nicer now...

Of course I've put tape over the Acard before putting the floppy.

Now the only thing left is the other usb connector, so I will be able to close the Amiga after a long time finally .

EDIT: BTW Is Mfilos the only one that likes my mods? I do appreciate to be fiercely criticized just as I like the good ones...

Rest easy, mate. Once again, your mods are original, highly innovative and well crafted.

Along with mfilos, fitzsteve and Phipscube, you're blazing trails for others to follow.

... The best question is why I'm (still...) not thinking in adding...

External keyboard (Lyra): ... Why? ... Isn't it/Hasn't the Amiga a keyboard???

Amiga/AGA/RTG switch: ?????? The mods I've seen with it have (both) a manual switch to change between them... I do have a Tv remote, and it works as long as it has batteries to change between them, and I haven't got osteoarthritiss or something in my fingers ...

Indivision Aga: My led Tv shows me all the interlaced modes perfectly... I've been thinking about it for a long time. I'm not sure if using it having a BVision and my TV.
EDIT: .. But what about that new HDMI output ???... hummmm....

And now I'm really waiting for complains to my ideas

External keyboard:
You don't need one. Me and Phipscube only added it, because we had the case opened for long time, and it was really painful to operate without keyboard. Also it was painful to operate and having to put the keyboard every once and a while to test stuff.
It's only needed for testing your system while open and that's about it.

Amiga AGA/RTG switch:
Since you have a TV with multiple inputs and you don't have a problem switching them with your remote you definitely don't need a switch. I also had an LCD/TV with dual inputs, but I didn't like at all changing inputs with the remote. That was my own option though so do as you feel better! Also both mine and Phipscube's switch wasn't manual but Auto.

Indivision AGA:
If your TV shows all the modes correctly you still don't need an Indivision. Same things as previous question apply.

In general and imho...
You do stuff according to your needs and your gear, and don't because someone else did it (due to his own needs and appetite). After all, nor me or Phipscube feel special forcing anyone to do such mods to Amigas. We did it cause it was fun and because we liked it
In the end... every mod you make, is for your own (and only) satisfaction. Sharing it is nice cause it can give ideas to others (as me and Phipscube do), as in the community nice ideas are always welcome for giving you solutions to your problems.

You're absolutly right Mfilos. I totally agree with you, it is just a matter of what everyone wants to make, I find even that if we all were making exactly the same mod it would be extremely boring. EDIT: But as long as I like all this "noisy" mods, I do like my silent A1200/ACA...

About the switch I know yours are auto, what I say is that both of you put a manual too. Yes, I could put it too, but I will use the remote at least by now.

I don't have any complain about such mods I commented (with irony -you know me, just see this thread at the beginning-, yes, sorry). Really on the contrary, I do like to see every single different mod with my highest admiration. I only want to say (as you say) that I don't need them (by now, but... who knows...). And I really feel bad for the fact that now only Phipscube and I are keeping the BPPC and BVision in our A1200's.

Thanks Bamiga & Akira

WOW! this is awesome Fernando! Your A12' is really cooking mate! That Acard hack is incredible!

I'm REALLY curious on what your gonna do with the DVD drive. Since you told me about the 9.5mm drives i've been really tempted to try one. those couple of mm would relieve a bit of pressure on the underside of the keyboard.

Anyways mate, keep up with the great work
