I had the same problem with WinUAE 0.8.16. I created a custom save disk using WinUAE for Darkmere and it managed to save the game ok but when it comes to loading it up again it won't load up your previously saved game. :(
There must be something broken with the way WinUAE currently handles custom save disks.
Don't worry though there is a way around this problem :)
I too am a bit of a big Darkmere fan so I went off and found a hard drive installer for it at the WHDLoad website. Once it's installed you can load and save to your hearts content :)
Beware though as I found out you can only save the game 8 times before you have to use the Format option. Other wise if you try to save again you will get a Read-Disk Error. :(

Thanks for your help Steve_B.
But it don't work !
When i execute the installation of the patch for darkmere, i get an error message 'unable to open you tool installer'.
This program is in the c directory of the workbench hd.
The whd programe (user) is copied in the c directory of workbench hd.
I cannot go further :sad
Any other suggestions or tips to use whd patch ?

Not too sure about this one. When it says that, it's saying it can't find the tool in the directory it's looking which is usually C. So something is a bit strange there. Check it's not read protected or anything like that. Try and find a newer version at Aminet maybe. That's all I can suggest to you I'm afraid. Maybe if you had SnoopDos installed you can find out where it's looking for it.

You've mentioned nothing of your Setup. What is your PC setup? What version of WinUAE do you use and Workbench? What ROM? No one can help you if you don't provide proper info. I remember now a problem with installing stuff like Workbench 3.5. You had to have the sound set to 100% accurate to get it to work. Maybe this is your problem?
Have you played Darkmere before? Currently I'm on Level 2 out of 3 in the forest. I'm a bit stuck at the moment cos I can't find my grandfather. Aparently he's living up in a tree somewhere!! Oh well I'll track him down.

I have used the 3.1 OS/roms3.1.
But they seem that my directory System with workbench have a problem with picasso too.
Maybee i must re-install the Workbench 3.1 but i can't do that now.
I must re-install Winblows before (because they have problems too) and i have >500 adf file to sort and to test + 2 cd-roms of files downloaded from Aminet that must be tested too to see what is interesting.
After all testing, i will install an virtual hd file and not an directory like now.
I am waiting my cd-rom of AmigaOS 3.9 that i have order for a final install.
Sorry, but for Darkmere i have only played 2 hours, before i try to reload it, but can't do it.
So, i am not go furter than the home city (helpless for you, you have done it).
Thanks for your help, i will try it later, and if needed, then i will ask help again.
