Could be either corrupted disks or the fact that the A1200 is on a newer OS and faster processor. You may want to try some degraders. Some of the A1200 owners here may be able to point you in the direction of tools to help you.

I think with the good degraders, you will be able to play 99% of your old Amiga500 games.

Aminet is a good source for these tools. I always used "Degrader" from the util/misc drawer, but this was a long time ago; there may be even better tools now.

Also if you hold down both mouse buttons whilst you reboot your A1200, you can access a menu which will let you disable CPU caches and such like. This can help in some games.

Hope this helps :)

Jim.
"Yous" has been mispelt . It's spelled y-o-u-s-e.

I don't think an American should preach about spelling in the English language.

ha ha nice one

lever is pronounced like levver
whereas fever is not pronounced like fevver

is this a flaw in american lanuguage?

The Internet has butchered the English language.

Most people on the Internet can't tell the difference between the following:

You're - e.g you're stupid
Your - e.g. your apple

It's nice to see someone else from Northern Ireland Jim. I'm from NI too!

Well it did all start with someone being stupid with an apple.....

Cody, those language issues were almost as rampant in the BBS days...it's an education issue. What we have more of with the internet is aol kiddies who spell both your and you're as ur...

It's like I always say, people are no damn good!

Oh, I speak a little Brooklyn-ese. Otherwise I'd never have been able to understand what Joey Ramone was saying. Or any of the 'Raymond' cast...
