i ust downloaded Pirates (cool game i had on the 64)
i always wanted it for the amiga!
anyway
i can save!
i made a floppy in Win UAE but when i try to save it says that it is write protected what cn i do?
a quick reply is need cause i gotta go to work but i want to save the game!!:shocked

i down loaded the save disc of the site (good site)
but the game thinks that the save game disc is write protected
which it isnt (i checked)
any other ideas as i realy want this game to work!
i gotta go back to work in 10 mins!!!

Go into WB, if you have WB 31 its better. Format disk. Try again, as per Cam's way.

Make sure the .adf files attributes are not Read-only in Windows. Right click on the .adf file and go to properties and unckeck the Read-only box.

Also you might want to try another version of WinUAE as I have experienced problems with saving to ADF files with some versions of WinUAE.

You might also want to dload the original version. I heard it works a bit better on emulators. It must be somewhere, I dumped it and gave it to Sane, and it must got spread from there. if not, I'll uload it. But you'll need the maps and studd, to bypass thecopy protection.

Thanks for all yor replies but im still having trouble with it has andy one got the game and tried to save it?
Have they over come it?
Also i have the latest verion on UAE someone said try a older version any in perticular?

If you are to have but one installation of WinUAE, I would suggest 0.8.8r8.

Gryphon if your sound is too chopy and sound is distorted on games when using Winuae0.8.8r8 like it is on my machine try winuae0.8.14r1. If you do use winuae0.8.14r1 set the sound to 'emulated, 100% accurate and sound buffer to 3.

I would use Winuae0.8.8r8 if it had triple buffering.
