Which "PAL booter" works best with an NTSC CDTV? I've tried a few, PAL switch works, but games don't seem to load (often).
I mean floppy disk games off an external drive.

You could cut open JP11 on the motherboard, then just add a switch on JP11 to select NTSC/PAL

You know, I'm physically unable to unscrew one screw, but I have found a "PAL booter" that works fine with the unit. One that survives resets. I guess not all A500 games worked on the CDTV anyway. At least we do have the 1MB chip RAM compatiblity issue.
What I love about this machine is that it fits nicely below the TV, alongside the PS3 and XBOX360. Admittedly though, the infrared controller is very dated now, never worked quite as intended.
TUDE could force PAL iirc.

I know, but TUDE didn't seem to work on the CDTV for me. Games didn't boot from the external drive. What does work for me is "Degrader V1.30". I found it on Aminet.

One of my favorite tools, both back in the day and present day.
