ok stupid newbie questions (well sort of)

now since i recently aquired another a2000
i´ve been trying to use my a2091 controller i couldn´t use on my first (it died before)
i took an old external hard drive from my old mac and put it on it
i´ve been trying to partition the drive but then i discovered that my old workbench disks are more and less dead
i had the hdtoolbox that found the hd but complained about missing files and then it died shortly later (i forgot about saddam and his friends they´re all over my old disks and disabled the write protect)
i did get newer disks with the a2000 but no hdtoolbox so anyone of you know about a good hd program ?

then it´s the transferring thing
now i don´t have crossdos but i do have something on an amiga disk called easytransfer but not on the pc
(i´ve been trying to find it )
the closest thing i´ve had to success with transferring was that warlock´s amiga basic project but i never got it to work completely (i got empty files with the correct names) have you tried it ? does it work ?

i should have thought of this earlier

i just installed a second floppy drive in my computer
and ran disk2fdi
it worked perfectly
i got it
now the only thing preventing me it that 80000003-80000004 error i mentioned in the hardware section
i´m getting this on all of my workbench disks that´ll boot :sad
and on both kickroms (i´ve got a switch)
i still suspect the hardware to ba at fault
