Why do i get this message when i try to split AmigaOS ROM Update from BB2 with the ROMSplitter?
"Unsupported ROM", "UnIdentified ROM" :banghead. Im running Workbench/Kickstart 3.1 + BetterWB 2.4 on WinUAE 2.4.0. I also use Remus 1.0 (rc36 - update 04/08/2011) and i follow mfilos Custom KickStart Guide (http://mfilos.blogspot.com/p/guides.html). Yes, i have a legal Kickstart 3.1 and Workbench 3.1 and also AmigaOS3.9.
Maybe it is necessary to have a clean (non patched) ROM, but I`m not sure.

You can't split custom Kickstarts except the known originals.

ROMSplit can only split Kickstart ROMs. The OS 3.9 ROM update is not a Kickstart ROM, it is a collection of modules loaded at boot time.
To split the OS 3.9 ROM update you can use the romupdatesplit program which comes with BlizKick.

ROMSplit does pull OS3.9 ROM update apart.
It supports both BB1 and BB2.
This is how I have always done it. ROMSplit works fine.

OK. I see that the same procedure have also mfilos gone thru, just look at his pictures and read the text in his guide, but i still dont know why ROMSplit give out the messages in my first post, when i try to split AmigaOS ROM Update from BB2. I still use my clean Kickstart 3.1 file from my A1200 and that one work with ROMSplit. Got BB2 from the BB3-BB4 (http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/bbag4.htm) site.

You have to install BB1, then BB2 on a 3.9 install. Then you can point to the rom update and pull it apart, its in the Devs folder once installed.
It Does work, as I tested again last night as it was mentioned ROMSplit will not split AmigaOS ROM Update BB1 or BB2.
If your still having issue, then do a clean install of OS3.9, then apply BB1, then apply BB2.
Then move the ROM Updates to where ever you want them.
