Wing Commander HD goodies?

Yesterday I installed Wing Commander on my HD again. I used to not be able to run it, because I had 1 MB of RAM. I once found a workaround, installing it myself, which allowed me to play it from the HD without needing 1.5MB. However I always thought strange about that requirement, I wondered if tehre were any extra goodies for HD users. Now that I have 2MB I gave it a try, and so far the only goody I found, was that when you message the ships while in the game, their face appear in your comms screen.

Does anybody know if there are any other HD-only goodies? a whole 512K can't be wasted in just a couple of piccies, can it? ;P

What about other games that had HD-only goodies? Methinks Fury of the Furries had some, but I Cant check now (my disk 2 got bombed)

I think one of the reasons for the 1.5MB-requirement was that the game was intended to be started from the Workbench.
And, harddrives needs buffers and other things.

I dunno bout that, because as I said, I installed it by hand meself, and it worked, even from workbench (after a bit of optimization of course :)

So far I only noticed that goodie (pilot faces on the comms screen)...

Did they ever release those missions disks they talked about?

I'm not sure, there's a button to play teh Secret Missions I disks on my game, but I think they never got released.
