I feel like a right muppet asking this but its been a long time since I converted any files from Amiga to PC..
so here goes...
How do you get the tilda sign to appear on an Amiga A1200?

(I want to do: copy ram:xx.dms ~C:\ in twinexpress)

I use a danish keyboard on mine so I can't say it'll work. But Shift and the key to the left of the 1 key does it for me.

Just like on the PC, it's located to te left of the "1" key. That is, if you are using an US layout. And it seems on a danish keyboard too. And my german keyboard has it there too.
So that's your best bet :)
Alternatively, use the PC to control twinexpress :D

the keyboard layout is different on a danish PC keyboard. There the ~is shown by pressing Alt-GR and the ¨ key. Next to the 1 key is the ½ and § key.

Why not trying the ASCII codes ?
It should be Alt 0126 for ~
If you don't have to use it often, you don't need a specific key.
