I just had a crazy idea...

An infocom interpreter which reads the text as speech, narrated tracks on the CD. And then MOST of the options available to you. No keyboard control. For CDTV and CD32. Some, like Bureaucracy http://hol.abime.net/246 wouldn't work very well this way. But I think most would

I would be up for reading some of the texts, I have a fairly clear reading voice, and a decent microphone.

Someone else would have transcribe the dialogue for me, I'm not that into these games. But I feel that this could make them much more playable, breathe new life into old stories.

I imagine that we would probably want our own scripting language to complement the original also, for atmospheric music, pictures, etc.

So is anyone else up for this. I think it's best to start with a small one.

And of course someone has to code the interpreter. Would this be difficult?

Why not just redirect stdout to SPEAK:, that would be a lot less hassle? for the output side of things at least...

That's not going to sound ANYTHING like the desired result for so many reasons I don't know where to begin.
