OK, this must be the fourth thread I've started in my quest for an A3000. For some reason I keep ending up with A500s and broken A2000s. Tell me if US$140 is a good deal for the following:

Amiga A3000 210mb HD, 030-25mhz 8mb of ram, 2mb chip ram, 2 floppy drives, Updated coin battery, 2.1 software. Everything but monitor.

I know this guy and bought an A500 and a bunch of games from him. I saw the above machine work and supposedly I can hook it up to my PC monitor. He also has a bunch of parts so if anyone is looking for something let me know.

Here in the states I'd say yes it's a good buy since I paid this much for a bog standard 16MHz version without that much fast ram :(

You can also add another 8MB of Fast Ram to this machine as well and I have used the Flicker-Fixer output on an old 17" SVGA monitor without any problems :)

$140 is a good deal for a nice computer.

BTW, where in CA are you from? I might be selling my A3000 since it's been garaged since I moved due to lack of space.

If you had only posted this sooner, I would have been interested in your 3000 then :(

The guy sold his Amiga 3000. Don't ask me how or why, but he had been advertising this for months and then this weekend he apparently sold it while I was calling and e-mailing him.

I will never have an Amiga with a HDD.

My Amiga 1000 never had a HDD and I survived. My Amiga 500 does not have a hard drive. My Amiga 2000 has a broken 50mb HDD.

I will survive. :sad

Heh, I didn't want your dirty disks. ;) I didn't get a chance to bring the computer in and test this past weekend. I'll see if I can get it done this week. I need to use it to read my old BBS HDs and get some old games onto CDs. Then it's up for grabs (provided it works)...

Since I already have an A3000, I would like to give Dpainter first crack at it and besides he may not live to far from you down in SoCal ;)

Who should get Adolescent's A3000?

1) Akira - living among orchids and exotic birds on his 1,500 acre coffee plantation in Argentina, Akira has amassed the world's largest antique computer collection as well as a vast number of Japanese dolls.

2) DPainter - a lower-middle class boy who is dying of a rare digitally-based disease called the Sickness. His last wish is to own and use an Amiga 3000 computer with a hard drive. :)
