EAB/Lemon Super League 2010: Round 10 Game Vote

Starts: 00:01 August 1
Finishes: 23:59 August 14

Rules

Full rules are here (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=41652).

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. If you don't, then you will get the treat of a PM from me, asking you to change your vote. If you still don't change it your vote will be discounted. If you aren't sure feel free to ask.

Edited votes will be discounted (unless you are told to edit it, and even then you can only edit the game(s) that aren't suitable) - so think before you post. Also you cannot vote for games that have already been played.

Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. You can only vote once, and also it could cause confusion if you post your vote on both boards - it's easy for it to be counted twice by accident.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state if you want to play the AGA version or not in your vote. If you don't specify we will assume you want the ECS version. If that game wins the vote we will count up the number of ECS and AGA votes and go for the version with most votes - unless the two versions of the games are exactly the same gameplay-wise, then we will use both.

The winner of Round 9 has double voting power for Round 10. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled.

Nice to see some PD games being voted for here.

What sort of scoring system does Transplant have? I've never played it before and there's nothing to indicate it on HOL's screenshots (as far as I can see).

Your right Graham - there is no scoring in Transplant - my memory is playing tricks on me... I have changed my choice 4 from Transplant to Croins.

Is there a reason I cannot vote for a game that was played over 2 years ago?

Graham Humphrey
03 August 2010, 15:50
To avoid repetition mostly (we've still got loads and loads of games to play and we clearly want to be playing different games) and because we said so ;)

We are looking at including 'open rounds' in the future, where anything from the past can be voted for again, maybe a couple a season.

Lemon have their own thread (http://www.lemonamiga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8029) and all the votes from here and there are totalled and the top game is played by both boards.

Voting over and the current scores are...

1. Super Hang-On - 23
2. Gods - 18
3. Lotus - 18
4. Pang - 18
5. Assassin - 17

As far as I can see it's actually impossible for another game to overhaul Super Hang-On but I wait to be corrected...

Hopefully it will not GODS, this game is excellent but it's far too long for the superleague imho. Complete again and again the game to make a good score could be a torture !

Motocross racing game from 1988 :shocked lol I'd like to play some platformer (Assassin) or pinball but.... I'll try it out... (unless there is a rule that there should be games from different categories each round).

Where have you been during the previous round? ;) The chances we're going to play pinballs again are pretty low. Most of the were already played :(

No, there is nothing mentioned about categories.

Is it possible to be competitive in Super Hang-On if you use joystick/gamepad-control instead of the mouse?

capehorn
21 August 2010, 18:03
Are you supposed to use the mouse for that? I played it for the first time a year ago on WinUAE and used keyboard.

john4p
21 August 2010, 18:14
The game supports mouse-, joystick- and keyboard-input. Just wanted to know if mouse-control is vastly superior (due to its "analogueness") to joystick- or keyboard-control.

I've tried both mouse and keybord. It seems that mouse is more sensitive but anyway I'm going to play with keyboard or even CDTV pad...
