Hmm, I am not sure if you can just connect 2 PSUs parallel together... ?!? I think there might be some trouble because one PSU 'eating' up the other's power. But I don't know - maybe it works without any problems. If you want to try then just measure the different pins. Both PSUs should provide same voltages ( 5V DC & 12V DC )
Anyway, I would better use the A-500 PSU and make an adapter to connect it to the CD32. Newer A-500 supplies have 4.5A max. while I think original CD32 PSUs have less. So I think the A-500 PSU alone should be enough.

Hi
Thanx for your comment's but I wasnt planning on connecting the psu's together! as I under stand it all you have to do is take the cable from the CD32 psu which connects to your CD32 & connect it to the A500 psu having removed the connecting cable from that. I've had them both apsrt but the A500 cable has more wires to deal with :(

ugly, ugly, ugly

i would recommend you just do yourself a favor & get an AT power supply/box (250 watts should be more than enough)and have a friend transfer the cd32 psu connector cable to it.

Yea right!
A psu thats designed to be fitted inside a PC case is going to look a lot better sat beside my CD32 than an A500 one would innit??? :mad :rolleyes

in its own box, it depends on how the box looks... i was actually referring to "using an a500 psu" as ugly since it would probably also have issues with driving that much of a load and die.

I guess what I really need is a diagram showing what pins are what & what colour cable connects to which pin etc. I know it can be done because I've noticed some CD32 setups on ebay have had a modified A500 psu supply'd with them :hoo

I've not found the schematics you requested but have found some other possible links to this info:
