View Full Version : Help to identify a TOSEC set
I am not able to identify this TOSEC set:
European Champions (1993)(Ocean)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr BST - FSN]
09B1877D
Its not "European Champions" by "Ocean".
Anyway it seems close to "Championship Manager" by "Domark", but i am not sure, maybe an early version.
That's definitely a championship manager clone/beta. I'll take a look when I get home.

Agreed, the font is Championship Manager all over.
The disk set grabbed from PlanetEmu is definitely the one from Ocean. Where did you get the screenshot?
EDIT: Ignore me for the moment. :P
It is definitely a version of Championship Manager, maybe an early version to coincide with the 1988 European Championship. I'm still looking and very excited :P
EDIT: It's got to be around 1991 as Tottenham v Arsenal are to play in the Charity Shield.
Few more pics suggest that this is also definitely a pre Championship Manager 1 version.

I've attached a saved game for perusal purposes as it takes friggin ages to set up a new game.
Thank you for checking, so its something like:
Championship Manager (1991)(Domark)(pre-release)[cr BST - FSN]
Nah, it's more like
European Champions (1991)(Domark)(Championship Manager Pre-Release)[cr BST - FSN]
The game is definitely referred to as European Champions which may be the name they were going to go with at first. It seems to be a full game too so I'm not entirely sure about the Pre-Release bit either. I'll do some more digging tonight and will let you know.
Ok, thanks again, i will wait for your investigation results.:great
Ok, next problems,
Currently we have the following sets in TOSEC.
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[a]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[a2]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[cr FLT - NS]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[cr FLT - NS][a]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[cr Folley, A.]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[v Lamer Exterminator 2][a]
I am not sure about
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[a]
Evil-Garden (1988)(Demonware)[a2]
This sets are a little bit different to the others.
1. different Disk label
2. different size of EXE
3. different folder structure
4. different date stamps
The title screen is also different, i think its because of different EXE.
The handbook check is not present. (different EXE).
I dont think its an US-version or similar.
I dont think its any budget release(nothing is known about budget release).
I dont think its any demo or beta.
I suppose this is the "Amigo!" release, but on disk is no trace and i have no comparing possibilities.
So is there any proof, that the mentioned sets are really "Amigo!" releases.
Maybe any member here has original "Amigo!" release for comparing purpose.
The other sets are all probably cracked by "FLT", but again there is no trace, except the EXE, which has same crc32 compared against "FLT" EXE.

Any further investigations, Seuden?
Sorry mai, I've been busy with beer/football/work/friends but I'll definitely check it out further tonight for you, probably be late tonight tho :D
Ok, I've been diggin and can't seem to find out anything else as far. I'd go with European Champions (1991)(Domark)(Championship Manager Pre-Release)[cr BST - FSN] for the time being as it best describes it without any further information. It's definietly not as feature rich as Championship Manager 1.

The title screens sure look like NTSC vs. PAL release. The one on the left is reduced to fit on NTSC Amiga.

Sorry, my mistake.
The left screen is WinUAE NTSC mode activated.
I have checked, if the game runs, if i enable NTSC.
Sometimes european versions of games are PAL protected and refuses to run on NTSC machines.
It seems to be not a NTSC version.

Ok, thanks for the efforts.
Should be then:
European Champions (1991)(Domark)[cr BST - FSN]
Its not relevant to have any additional info as [more info] flag, i think.

I have found next different "Championship Manager" ADF.
I am not sure, if it is any variation of:
http://hol.abime.net/2980
Championship Manager 93
http://hol.abime.net/4511
Championship Manager Italia
or maybe any unofficial translated version.
I have put ADF in the zone for further investigation.
Maybe someone knows something about such a release.
