EAB/Lemon Super League 2010: Round 7 Game Vote

Starts: 00:01 May 2
Finishes: 23:59 May 15

Rules

Full rules are here (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=41652).

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. If you don't, then you will get the treat of a PM from me, asking you to change your vote. If you still don't change it your vote will be discounted. If you aren't sure feel free to ask.

Edited votes will be discounted (unless you are told to edit it, and even then you can only edit the game(s) that aren't suitable) - so think before you post. Also you cannot vote for games that have already been played.

Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. You can only vote once, and also it could cause confusion if you post your vote on both boards - it's easy for it to be counted twice by accident.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state if you want to play the AGA version or not in your vote. If you don't specify we will assume you want the ECS version. If that game wins the vote we will count up the number of ECS and AGA votes and go for the version with most votes - unless the two versions of the games are exactly the same gameplay-wise, then we will use both.

The winner of Round 6 has double voting power for Round 7. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled.

Assassin seems better than Assassin SE on the reviews, who can confirm?
I don't know this game (with or whitout SE) so my choice is maybe wrong...

Assassin SE has a less adventure feeling and is a bit easier. Each of the six levels of Assassin is divided onto sublevels making the game easier even more. In SE you just run and kill hoping for a good bonus at then end. In original you need to think wise, uncover secrets with specials and stuff to survive to the end of the level. It is more adventurous less arcade. Still, from the compo point of view, they are both great.

Thank you for your explanation, I understand now why you chose both :)

Voting over for the final time in the first leg of this year's League, and in a break with tradition, I'm going to list the top eight rather than the top five, seeing as the voting has been very close...

1. Skidmarks - 15
2. Assassin Special Edition - 15
3. Agony - 14
4. Lotus - 12
5. Ruff 'n' Tumble - 12
6. Pacmania - 11
7. Pang - 11
8. Assassin - 10

Skidmarks currently leads by two first place votes but frankly it's anyone's guess as to what game we'll be playing this time next week...

graham , what's going on ???
i count 11 points for Assassin Special Edition
and i see no point for skidmarks ????? :shocked
or 16 points for asassin se if you did a mistake and this is the winner of round 5 who can give more points (you wrote the winner of round 6)

Is there any points' system in Skidmarks?

Graham Humphrey
16 May 2010, 14:05
Yes - there is a Championship mode which contains six tracks. There are two sets of tracks so should Skidmarks end up being voted in we'll play both of them and add up the scores.

The only concern is that it's almost certainly gonna end in scores being tied again. It's not very difficult and it's a short game. Loads of different cars and computer car teams (whatever they are) but no idea if there is any tangible difference between them all.

Anakirob
16 May 2010, 14:11
But it does not matter. 'coz I'm going to win this round and Ruff'n'tumble will be the next game. heheheh.

Graham Humphrey
16 May 2010, 14:13
Yeah there is that ;)

If there are some lap times, we might use them as well but since we are going to play Ruff'n'Tumble, there is no need to worry about it right now...

Yes, it's probably going to be Ruff 'n Tumble next round - unless rexsu decides to have another go at Nitro. Then it'll be Assassin Special Edition.

But we almost definitely won't be playing Skidmarks.

Graham Humphrey
16 May 2010, 23:10
Yes that particular scenario is looking unlikely (thankfully - I've had my fill of racing games for a while). For future reference though I suppose we could use lap times - either instead or as a tie-breaker.

rexsu
17 May 2010, 00:06
The lemoners are strong in the Nitro round, Skidmarks is highly probable for the next round if Anakirob (or I) don't play anymore.
What are your preferences ?
Skidmarks, Ruffl'n Tumble or Assassin ?

If you allow me to vote even though we are past the voting date, i can swing the balance bit ;)

blade002
21 May 2010, 10:46
Since the voting date is well and truly over, where is the decision on what we are going to play next?

Graham Humphrey
21 May 2010, 10:51
When this round ends.

The winner of Round 6 has double voting power for Round 7. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled.

mihcael
21 May 2010, 10:51
There is no decision to be made, when round 6 finishes, the winners votes are doubled, the vote should be clear at that time! :great

Anakirob
21 May 2010, 10:52
I am curious, what happens in the event of tied votes? Are both games played?

mihcael
21 May 2010, 10:59
There is a count back process!

In the event of a tie the game with the most 5 point votes will win. If it is still tied then the most 4 point votes is looked at and so on.

Graham Humphrey
21 May 2010, 11:03
But what about an absolute dead heat (which I assumed he was getting at)? I'm not quite sure we ever decided on what to do if that happened. I doubt it'll ever happen but it might be a good idea to have some sort of plan in place...

mihcael
21 May 2010, 11:13
I think when we discussed this, and decided it would never happen... i suggested that the mods could have the final say!

Graham Humphrey
23 May 2010, 01:05
After Masterblaster's (almost) last-gasp win, here's what that's done to the voting results (denoted by a *):

1. Assassin Special Edition - 19*
2= Assassin - 15*
2= Skidmarks - 15
4. Agony - 14
5. Ruff 'n' Tumble - 14*
6. Pang - 14*
7. Lotus - 12
8. Pacmania - 11

New round to follow soon.
