Hello! I just got a 2000HD loaded up with a non bootable 2090 with a Miniscribe MFM drive an 5 meg total ram. I'd like to move to OS 3.1 to be able to do all the neat things :) My 500/590 is happy to stay at 1.3 for games. Will 3.1 work on this system? Please fill me!
Thanks much in advance

Sure it will work, but you need Kick 3.1 in your A2000 :)

That's good news! I guess that means that the hddisk driver is ok under 3.1. Once I get the roms/disks I'll set up a boot disk similar to the 1.3 "find hard disk" floppy I have now. I was worried that the hddisk driver might not work.

Thanks

I take it that your "find hard disk" floppy means that your A2090 isn't autobooting.
If you want to perform even half-serious work on your A2000, you'd be far better off with an A2091 or any autoboot controller, they sell dirt cheap on eBay.

Bonjour NoX! My 2000 isn't going to be doing any really serious work... it's a hobby machine. I got it w/ 21meg hd, 3 meg ram, 1084 monitor, joysticks, 200 programs (including SAS/C) for 25CDN (~21 euro) :) Most of the controllers I've seen on eBay go for more than I paid for my machine! =/ I'm keeping an eye out for one though. I guess I'll have to go to some garage sales and flea markets.

Thanks

After a number of false starts I've made a great deal of progress. I got the hard disk mounted as is w/o reformating for now. Sill looking to get it to recognize a 2.1 scsiII drive I have... mission impossible? I guess I'm going to find out :p
