Is there only 1 way to put an A1200 into a Tower.. ?

I.E. Spend £120 on a Case.. This is really Expensive and why as PC towers are as little as £30 for a Tower.

Can one be put into a PC tower Case..?

I know i would need a Power converter and keyboard adapter..

No reason why an A1200 can't be fitted in a PC tower, with a bit of DIY. Mobo shape can make it a bit awkward. Find one that will physically suit it best!

Amiga towers are more expensive because they are custom-made to accommodate an A1200 perfectly, and smaller numbers are sold.

I suppose a PC MID-Tower could host an A1200 motherboard somehow...

Sure if it's a DIY job then yes a good mid or full tower case would work fine. It's too bad the custom cases are so much more expensive, but also the manufacturer has also modified the power supply connector as well so this is another expense that has to be done to the case ;)

Here's one I found for the A4000, but I bet it will be somewhat the same for any model ;)

I HAVE DONE THIS!!!

ok the best way to do this is quite wierd but here goes:

A. strip your amiga down so it's in seperate bits.

B. take the plastic bottom of your amiga and make holes in it corresponding to the screw holes in the pc case.

C. Attach the plastic back of your amiga to the pc case.

D. With a pair of tin snips/tin shears or whatever cut out holes for the ports in the amiga motherboard. (with some cases you can just remove the IO shield at the back)

E. attach the motherboard to the plastic back

F. hook up power from PC power supply, sorry i cant remember how i did this, pc supply is 12v and so is amiga so should not be to difficult! (only works with AT power supply)

G. Turn it on and keep your fingers crossed!!

The plastic bottom of your amigas case is a cheep adaptor and keeps the motherboard safe from touching the PC case.

THIS DOES WORK!! although i wont take any responsability if you kill your Amiga!!

You can also modify an ATX power supply as well, just remember to short the power_on line to ground to get the supply to work properly ;)
