Messy Windows

I am thinking about using winuae to point to a directory for use as a HDD but the problem I have with Workbench 3.1 is that it never remembers window or icon positions so the icons inside the drive are a freakin mess and I have to expand the window each time to see the mess is there a way to make it nice and Microsoft Windows like?

..isn't this what the "save snapshot" in the workbench menu is for? If i remember correctly, it is for saving the position of icons and windows, but i could be wrong.
