This auction beats the thread regarding the Cinemaware auction:

OK, it is a relatively rare game as an original, but not for that price...

Well, considering I found and donated 3 rare games for CAPS Project within a couple of 20+ original game bundles costing under £8 total I have to agree it's not that rare! I hope it's a typo - probably should have been 5 euro. :eek

Well I too agree it's not a good buy, but you also have to take into account that most of these greedy SOB's are just asking for what the market will bare, and since there are many collectors out there, hey the price can go up and up :(

An A600 going for $118 on ebay, all it comes with is a mouse, no software hardrive etc!

I like how gracious this nutball is by just throwing in some disks for fun, jeeze :shocked

But notice that the price raised to 118$ after 12 bids. It's the bidders that are crazy and 118$ is not yet an extremely high price. I wouldn't want to be the winning bidder though :)

Looks to me as if someone's using multiple login names to jack the price up.

I wish I had the time to do that rarity guide for Amiga games, but it would just be used by greedmongers against us. (sigh) Dogs Of War is rare, but I would give it a 4 rating (on a scale of 5). Problem is, it's not in high demand, no matter how rare it is or isn't.

Incidently, how much is EUR 500,00 in US$?

$460.22.

I think this crazy price is because you were able to insert items to EBay Germany for free yesterday, so no input fees or anything and many dumb freaks take advantage of this and put such auctions online :(

Geeze, $500 is like waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

Greed seems to be the word of the day for this person :(

LOL! Not even "Putty Squad" could merit such a price! No game, really. This auction definitely dwarfs the Cinemaware one (and any other Amiga software auctions I have seen to date). Maybe that was the idea, notoriety via absurdity. It doesn't change the game's rarity status a bit, though. :)

The auction is now cancelled. Perhaps he also noted that his offer is not realistic.

As for prices: I slightly remember that Great Giana Sisters was sold for over $100.00 on German Ebay... This is a fair price for some of the rarest Amiga games. I would personally also be willing to pay this price for titles like Spirit of Excalibur CDTV etc.
