View Full Version : Bvision problem
I recently removed cybergraphx 3 from my system and installed 4.0 instead but in the installer, my board blizzard vision was marked as "not supported". After rebooting, I selected a Cybervision screenmode and it didn't work. The windows were not drawn on the screen properly. Later I installed 4.1, 4.2pre8 and 4.2pre11 patches. Now I can select a screenmode named bvision but there are just two variants, 800x600 8bit and 640x400 8bit. I could select from many 16 and 24 bit screenmodes with my old CGX 3 driver. Does anyone know what I'm missing here?

I can't help directly, I'm afraid, as I use Picasso96 instead of CGX.
In Picasso96, there is a screenmode creator/editor/tester called Picasso96Mode. Maybe there is a similar thing in CGX?
Here is the CGX CVision/BVision support page: http://vgr.com/cvppc/, if you don't have this already. :)

Since I never got CGX to work with my gfx card here (also it should be supported) .... is CGX faster than Picasso96 (for games) ??? And if so, how much faster ?
Should I understand from your posts that, I can use Picasso instead of CGX ?

No ! Picasso96 isn´t supported by the BVision cards, btw. CGX 4.0 can´t work anyway, you have to use 4.1 but since you allready did an update, I really dunno why you´re having troubles with your screenmodes :confused
Oh ok then. It's better to install os3.9 again and see if it works.
I should keep a pre-installed os3.9 in a directory for these kind of situations :)
Can someone tell which driver update(s) are necessary to enable 24bit 1024*764 and above screenmodes? Should I install all of them in order? I formatted my system, reinstalled 3.9 and CGX 4 today. During installation I didn't tick any of the listed drivers for bvision wasn't in the list then installed 4.3 beta RC5 update on top of it. Now I still have just 640*480 and 800*600 bvision modes. CGX 4 seems to be a lot faster than CGX 3. Is it true? if not, should I better return to CGX 3 drivers? Does anyone have a bvision on this planet other than me?:shocked
