While trying to start WinUAE in Win95, get "missing ws2_32.dll" error. I'm using the latest release, and DirectX 7.0.

This is the Windows Socket v2 and with Win 95 you need to apply all the updates and patches, but especially this one:

Also check out the following web pages for other updates you may need as well:

Thanks! I could not figure out what that file was. I will download that now. REALLY appreciate the fast response, and will make the EAB site a favorite!
Thanks again,

That was it! But I found WinFellow while I was puzzling over WinUAE, and it works very much the same... maybe faster!
Thanks again.

Visit my sorry web site, www.tech-helper.net sometime.

I just wish they would make a version of WinFellow that is not alpha or beta :-(

You know it's because Toni kicks their collective asses when it comes to WinUAE vs. WinFellow :D

Perhaps the support for the Win32 release just isn't there for WinFellow like it seems to be with WinUAE, I just don't know :confused

IMO, both emulators have serious problems. I hope TW can fix all the bugs that BK put into WinUAE :-)

I think he can and will :D

Now if your avatar is correct and you can program, how about helping him out or at least offering to :cool

I'm an Amiga programmer more than a Windoze programmer. I have previously contributed to WinUAE via bug reports, however these were ignored (by BK etc) so that put me off the whole idea.

I have a fairly long list of games that are incompatible with WinUAE, including WHDLoad games. I wonder if Toni Wilen would like a copy of the list (and if necessary the games) so that he can make WinUAE more compatible?

Because I'm willing to help if I feel there will be progress made on improving the emulator.

List(s) of non-working games (with short report where, how and when the problem appears) are always accepted.

Note that I am not very interested in debugging system friendly or WHDLoad games.. (I don't have registred whdload and debugging "normal" non-dos games/demos is so much easier than system-friendly)

Got a candidate right here, one that you all know:
Rainbow Islands. :) (yeeees, once again this bugger)
