well I`ve finally done it

Its a dual CF card reader on the side of my 1200. I wanted it to fit over the pcmcia port but after makin all the holes I found that my cable wouldt reach

so plan 2 came into effect and I think its worked out quite nice :)

well thats the hardware done now using it, hum seems WB3.1 only sees the slave card after Ive modified it in HDtools, now I can`t be doing that all the time.

Workbench 3.5 works though without any problems that I`ve encounterd so far but on my unaccelerated A1200 its a bit of a drag so I`ve patched the scsi.device ala Thomas`s guide and did the loadmodule bit at the start of the startup sequence now I can see my partions on the slave CF card in WB3.1 :spin. So all is good in the pond again

Hi Cosmic,

Great thread, mate! :great

I've got one of those dual CF to IDE adapters, and I've got pretty much the same sort of thing in mind myself. :)

I may have some questions for you later.

Thanks again,

Awesome Stuff Cosmi!!

pity the cable was to short my friend. Infact I have been messing around with Spectrum +2's and CF cards for the Amiga all day today... Lovely...

Nice to see another CF'd Amiga!!

Ps.

Those ROM's look lovely! ;)

What scsi.device are you using I tried version SCSI 43.23 from AmigaWorld and every time I reboot I get a message You must uninstall this device blah blah or are you using scsi device from OS3.9?

I found it much easier to hot glue the IDE->CF card ontop of the PCMCIA connector.

Then you can just dremmel the top edge of the PCMCIA slot to widen it (much easier than cutting a new slot) and the IDE-CF adapter can remain hidden.

Admittedly I've only ever tried single IDE->CF adapters as they are easier to fit.
