Rules :

Post screenshots of your scores in this thread, and write your score underneath. You can enter as many times as you like within the round's time frame.

No cheating of any kind (including score leeching) - this includes save states. If you suspect a contestant of cheating then don't post it in public (anyone who does so will have their posts edited or deleted) - please PM me and I will investigate it. If we find anyone guilty of cheating then they will be banned for the entire season.

Play at default settings (Standard Game/Game Mode Normal)

Anyways, don't think I've heard about this game actually.. so it's better than Super R-type and Axelay? Well, we'll see about that...! ;) But I'll give it a go.

EDIT: Kick-ass game! 0_0 Very fair, let's you get unbelievable power-ups, and if you manage to stick to a few of them, you can bust some serious butt.

And wow... I beat up Xpect! :D Hopefully, the trend will continue. ^^

I think these games are more fun than axelay and super rtype. Rtype is probably better technically but i'm not sure about axelay. Axelay didnt do it for me even though it got nice reviews for its time.

What's wrong with the PAL-version? :o
PAL versions are mostly lazy converted and run thus ~18% slower than the NTSC-versions (US and Japan).

Let's see how john does this time then. Maybe he can come up with a score that will make you play again ;)
As I'm not blessed by shoot'em up-autism like TF I won't stand a chance in this game. But I still xpect to see someone challenge him... ;)

I think thats because its not moving in the pictures. I always wondered that with screen shots in mame. They looked beautiful when stilled but the same game i screenshot doesnt look like that when playing.

After passing level 4 all went well. That level went the most difficult of the game for me. That death trailing ships started to get on my nerve more than once!

EDIT: Yes TF you are right. I'm not very fond of filtering on the games, but in this one I think it defines better the obstacles and ships, because of the backgrounds, which are always warping and moving in some parts.

Filtering is perfect if you use an exact multiple of the resolution.

For SNES you should choose 512x448 (add this fullscreen-resolution e.g. via Powerstrip) and with hq2x you have a perfectly scaled beautiful experience.

Thanks John for the tip. I'll try powerstrip later tonight.

I normally use lcd's native resolution, just not to have monitor's interpolation artifacts.

I use Super2xSal filter in Snes9x. Selected it when I was playing FF2 and never switched it off again ;)

Hey, what do you guys do to relieve the pain in your wrists? I think I'm going to do some stretching thingie I've learned, helps when you've been using photoshop for a long time too. ( it actually did help a bit now, but I'm gonna' need lots more stretching)

Still don't seem to be able to reach Druid's first score tho! So close... That section on level two, with the over-head part when the space-station is mode-7 spinning beneath you... damn that's hard.

The funny thing is... I just had another go, and my score was lower than this one actually, but I still got further on the level. Until the voice comes on and proclaims: "Oh! Give me a friggin' BREAK!"

The boss is kind of lame tho, just a bunch of pods in the ground that shoot at you. :D

800,000 isn't really that hard ;) Like I said : Use your smart bombs wisely and choose the right weapons. This way you should get there (or even better :)).

Well you need to shoot all the diamonds in the last levels and die sometimes. You need to find the right spots to maximize your score ;)

@TF & TCD: Did you die on purpose to get those scores or did you just destroy everything possible?

First run no. Second run, yes. The cheap thing about this game is you get a free life on the last "special" stage every time. If you kill 500,000 worth of "stuff." I noticed that on my run so i just planned ahead and left when i had 4 lives left. Id say a high 10m low 11m is the is the true score of this game.
