Want to rename, compare or find out if any of the .ADF files you posses are rare without having to run multiple .DAT files via ClrMAMEPro? Then this is the thread for you ;)
I've taken all the latest public .ADF based TOSEC Commodore Amiga .DAT files and combined then into one. Here's the a list of the various .DAT files which have been combined:
Commodore Amiga - Applications - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-07_CM).dat

Here are the instructions you should follow:
Preliminary:
Download the latest version of ClrMAMEPro 32bit (zip) from here (http://www.clrmame.com/download.htm).
Extract it to your hard drive e.g. "C:\CLRMAMEPRO".
Download the file "Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).zip" from the "User\DamienD\DATS" directory on Magix's FTP server (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38697) and extract the DAT file to ClrMAMEPro's datfiles directory e.g. "C:\CLRMAMEPRO\datfiles".
Create a directory called "___ORIGINAL" on your hard drive i.e. "C:\___ORIGINAL" and then copy all your .ADF files into this.
Create a directory called "___FOUND" on your hard drive i.e. "C:\___FOUND".
Running ClrMAMEPro:
Start ClrMAMEPro and click "OK" at the welcome screen.
Double-click on the "Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM)" displayed in the right hand window and then click "Default".
Click the "Settings" button, click "Add...", then point to the directory where your files are stored i.e. "C:\___ORIGINAL", click "OK" and then click the "X" to close the "Settings" window.
Click the "Rebuild" button, click the "..." button under "Source", point to the directory where your files are stored i.e. "C:\___ORIGINAL" and then click "OK".
Click the "..." button under "Destination", point to the directory where you want your rebuilt files to go i.e. "C:\___FOUND" and then click "OK".
Tick "Remove Matched Sourcefiles" and then "Rebuild...".
Once totally finished the "Statistics" window will appear, click "OK" then "X" twice to exit ClrMAMEPro.
All renamed / identified files will be sitting in the "C:\___FOUND" directory.
Any rare / unrecognised files will be sitting in the "C:\___ORIGINAL" directory.

Very nice work Damien :great This should really help people scanning their collection for rare images :) Let's hope Loedown will now be able to sort his disks out :agree

Greetings,
Indeed Damien has done a great job of combining the files, I still don't like Clrmamepro, so I will still develop my own software.
The moment of truth revails that I do indeed still have much that's not in TOSEC and that is just from the single archive that's been done and doesn't include all of the additional images I will have available soon from various other collections. I'll collate a list for perusal and we'll go from there, should be done by Friday.
Big thanks to all that have helped in these matters,
Paul

Greetings,
Here's the list, an X donates that TOSEC couldn't find anything, although with some of the titles, I know they will exist, or the original archive that I have is corrupt, or different cracker / coder / loader / intro, if someone wants to sort through, be my guest. If someone wants something, again, just ask.

That's a job for me to do this weekend then - I'll run my ADF CDs through this to find out what I've got/not got.
This will make my life a lot easier.

Greetings,
Everything is uploaded, I no longer have the time to sift through, someone else will have to do that.
Many thanks to Magix, I have used plenty of your server, but in a few weeks, if that's ok, I will remove things as I have time, all the non working entries, or serious repeats. I urgently have to find work, if anyone needs an Electronics Tech, please email me, zero242@internode.on.net

ftp://am1ga:JayM1n3r@eab.whdownload.com/User/Loedown/ <--- This link seems to work, sorry about the other.
Go mad people, documents are there, one set is the original disk I found, the other set is the remaining disks I found after they had been put through Clrmamepro.
Enjoy,

Doesnt this just do the same as BatchRun? I was kinda hoping it would be the solution to my problem and put the files in the correct folders. It chucks ALL files into one folder, leaving me with 100,000 odd files perfectly named but in no kinda order!!

Hey Methanoid,
I've read your other thread (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43627)... Definitely something that I think would be useful / beneficial so I've done all the hard work ;)
Basically, here's what I had to do:
Use UltraEdit (http://www.ultraedit.com/) to amend each DAT file with the required line rebuildto "<datname>.dat" into the correct location for each entry.
Combined all the modified DAT files into one.
You can download the new "Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined With Directories - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).zip" from the "User\DamienD\DATS" directory on Magix's FTP server (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38697). Instructions for use are the same as in post #2 (http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=516197&postcount=2) ;)

Pity I have done 90% of the files but this will make the job so much easier on the rest and checking those odd files. This is how the DATS should be IMHO....
Anyone for asking Grendel or Idoru ;)

Hey jrom,
Only the .ADF based DATS were included as listed in post #1 (http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=516195&postcount=1)...
Over the weekend I'll create the following:
... Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).zip
... Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined With Directories (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).zip
These will include all DATS excluding CD based ones ;)

FYI there seems to be a text limit to REBUILD options so best skip Commodore and just put Amiga and use Apps instead of Applications etc
BTW, why no CD? Why not the full Amiga/CD/CD32 dat?
Yeah greedy....
God I wish there were newer DATs out though.. i have 50gb not renamed!!

Hmmm, I definitely haven't noticed that.
Just to make absolutely sure, I tested rebuilding using files with the longest filenames from some of the longest DAT / rebuild paths. Also used the directories specified in the instructions i.e. "C:\___ORIGINAL" and "C:\___FOUND". All rebuilt fine :)
I'm not saying that there isn't an issue with file / path length and ClrMAMEPro (probably really a "Windows" file / path length limit), but if use the directories as specified for the process you will be fine.

Hi, don't have stats now but the non iso part didn't got much new sets since last rename so i bet your 50gb will be that way for some time :(
If they are isos you can get the latest ones from toseciso.org (from 2009-03 or something :p)

Just a quick FYI post ;)
Yesterday I ran / rebuilt all my TOSEC Commodore Amiga files (minus CD / CDTV / CD32) through ClrMAMEPro using the Commodore Amiga - Latest Public DATS Combined rebuildto Directories - [Excluding CD - CD32 - CDTV] (TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).dat (http://eab.whdownload.com/VIP/~PUBLIC/User/DamienD/DATS/Commodore%20Amiga%20-%20Latest%20Public%20DATS%20Combined%20rebuildto%20Directories%20-%20%5BExcluding%20CD%20-%20CD32%20-%20CDTV%5D%20%28TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM%29.zip) found in this thread (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43740).
All worked 100% so there's no issue with the destination path / rebuildto length as long as you use the one specified (or shorter) from the instructions :great

Thanks Damien, I wasnt aware of that site.
Which site? If you're taking about the link above it's the "combined / rebuildto" DATs from the other thread (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43740) I created.
I'll run my CD stuff through that now...
Note that these "combined / rebuildto" DATs from the other thread only include the DATs from http://www.tosec.org/ (http://www.tosec.org/) i.e. "Complete_(TOSEC-v2007-03-14_CM).zip" and are not the latest ones from the TOSEC CD Dumping Project (http://www.toseciso.org/).
I found some newer SPS dats which helped tidy those up.
Guess you're talking about the DATs created by Belgarath last year:
... Commodore Amiga - Coverdisks - SPS (TOSEC-v2008-07-23).zip
... Commodore Amiga - Educational - SPS (TOSEC-v2008-07-23).zip
... Commodore Amiga - Games - SPS (TOSEC-v2008-07-23).zip
I should really have used these plus the ones from the TOSEC CD Dumping Project when combining instead of the latest released public DATs from http://www.tosec.org/ (http://www.tosec.org).
Maybe I'll create some more "combined / rebuilto" DATs next week ;)

I found this swf tutorial video (http://www.cphsolutions.f2s.com/guides/cmprotutorial.htm) at last i understand how to use the software. Ok it isn't for the amiga or tosecs, but it gives the geral idea. Maybe someone could do the same for this thread content and more.
Watching a tutorial is easier than reading. I did try instructions above but never made sense or got any further with it, until i saw this swf tutorial.
I should say its not DamienD fault it more of the design flaw of ClrMAMEPro. Its layout is of putting. Even after i understand more now, i still think ClrMAMEPro gui is 110% crap.
Roll on for a DamienD (or someone else's) screen tutorial guide for us all to watch and follow. Maybe can be made to extend for everything more than just what this thread intended to do. Saved in xvid would be more help than swf or flv which are both shite.

Greetings,
Indeed Damien has done a great job of combining the files, I still don't like Clrmamepro
Without a 100% GUI rework I won't either. (Ever.)
so I will still develop my own software.
RomCenter (http://www.romcenter.com) can also read the DAT format that DamienD has used.
(Hoping that not the great part of the board staff consists of CMP lobbyists, so I might take the risk of getting banned now for saying the 'JEHOVA' word :laughing :lol)

I'm currently going through a lot of my disks that I believe to be non-TOSEC or possible Alternative dumps (my disk collection is in the 1000s currently screening through random selection).
So far out of the 336 disks dumped. Only 38 of them turned out to be in TOSEC matching the same CRC checksum.
I am currently screening through these ADF(s) to see if the disks are still ok or contain any checksum errors. Also if they contain any viruses (some of the ones added/uploaded have had the viruses removed), etc. I am also excluding a lot of the alternative dumps that do not have any real difference compared to the ones currently in TOSEC. If there are differences in appearence, etc is when they will be included.
Andreas' tool 'ADFCHK' has come in handy for this job.
Over the coming days/weeks/months on the EAB File Server under the following directory
'Game/Disk/NewGames (not in TOSEC)/NioByte/' expect more to be uploaded.
I will continue to edit this post with the new upload additions.
So far these are it:

Plutos & Emerald Mine (198x)(Unknown) [B]CRC32: B94A5221
^Bad Dump due to the following files being corrupted: ag2,ag8,ah6,ah7,ai3,ai8,aj2,his. This only affects Emerald Mine. I have checked all of the levels only the high score seems to be affected. Unfortunately I think this was a memory dumped version. As every copy of Emerald Mine I have checked does not contain these files. I cannot verify checksum or contents due to files being corrupted.
Plutos & Emerald Mine (198x)(Unknown) CRC32: B3153B4E
^Now a good dump after clearing all user related data from Emerald Mine. The game now works properly including the High Score table. It seems only the user written data was affected. Verified file integrity, no checksum errors detected during file copy. Use the bad dump to obtain user saved data. Not bad considering this disk was almost unreadable. Hail to kryoflux and my other methods (disk was surface cleaned) :)
Slipstream - Compact Disk - Quartz & Switchblade & Stunt Car Racer (1989)(Slipstream) CRC32: C025336A
^Quartz does not work. Judging by other source 'Method Git' it seems it was released non-working.
I have also uploaded the .log files that ADFCHK generated showing the related issue(s) found (if applicable) and the CRC32 checksum for each of the ADF image(s).
A lot of the releases shown above are from local BBS' & disk swappers that used to be in Perth WA and around Australia. That is why a lot of them contain [h] tags due to this reason (not all are from Perth WA or around Australia, the majority are though). This is one of the main reasons why a lot of these are not contained in TOSEC.
Here are some of the Australian division cracker/importer scene groups:
ACU -> Australian Crackers United (Cracker & Importer)
Bandidos -> Perth WA (Importer)
Divinity -> Perth WA Division (Importer)
Fusion -> Perth WA Division (Importer)
HellRaisers -> Perth WA (Importer)
Liberty -> Perth WA Division (Importer)
Paralax -> Perth WA (Importer)
Phantasie -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer)
SpreadEagles -> Perth WA (Importer)
The Fire Starters -> Australian Division (Importer)
The Punishers -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer)
TIC - Freestyle -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer)
More to come watch this space :)
