I have put the final beta package of WHDLoad v16.9 on the web site: http://whdload.de/whdload/whd169.lha
If there are no problems it will be equal to the final release.
It contains bug fixes and various minor changes.
As a new feature it is now possible to redirect all write operations to a different location on disk.
I would be thankful for any testing and reporting :)

"SavePath/K and SaveDir/K added to let WHDLoad redirect all write operations to a different disk location"

Really useful improvement :) finally i can backup all saves from one place easily.
Thanks for that!

B.C. Kid crashes after the Factor 5 Logo with a "Level 4 Autovector (AUDIO 0-3)" Exception error. It worked in older v16.9 betas and in v16.8.

I will test some more. :)

Yes this installs has still some problems. I already tried to fix it last year without success. It seems there are some interrupt timing problems.
Where did you try, uae or real hardware?

Real hardware. Yes, the game crashed my A1200 several times, causing a black screen with WHDLoad 16.8. Randomly, mostly in world 1 or world 2.

Does it support SNOOP mode for MC68040 yet?

Sorry, ATM I have no solution for this. It seems there is some hardware lockup.

Do you need this? Nobody has requested this in the last years. Could be done, not much difference to the 68060... Will you make some installs then?

I voted for it some time ago (on EAB ;-), and i need it becouse I have turbo card equiped with MC68040 and SNOOP option is very useful if you write and test slaves (4 me of course).

one bad thing with 16.9 - when you run older version it cant parse new .prefs file :/

Yes, when you enable some of the new features. :sad

I don't know how to avoid that. But why do you want to use an older version?

For compatibility with old slaves, games such as Back to the future 2 (horrible game!!) works only with WHDLoad 10. Bored said he can't fix it.

Hopefully these mysteries will be solved some day.
You could use a script (IconX) to run such a games, e.g.
assign s: sys:s/v10
whdload.v10 x.slave ...
assign s: sys:s
