e-uae on linux has a perfectly good GUI / menu system, i've been running it on ubuntu myself in the last few days.
Perhaps caver99 is running it on OSX, and as such requires the hi-toro GUI for e-uae.
www.doremac.com will give the needed links for this

Sorry i did not state but its the e-uae under os4.1 my mistake
Could someone tell me how can I start E-UAE on Ubuntu with precompiled binaries?

Try RunIn UAE. I Believe F1 lets you change Floppies.
I could be wrong though, aint had much chance to play around with it yet.
I suppose it's silly idea to run Fellow or UAE under DOSBox with installed Ubuntu?

The name of the E-UAE binary is "uae".
Learn to use the find command :)

Can I get e-uae fullscreen under Ubuntu? It seems ludicrously under developed compared to winue.

Yes you can update your config file in your home folder and change the following
gfx_fullscreen_amiga=true
gfx_fullscreen_picasso=true
These are set as false as default
use F12 and S to escape full screen
Hope this helps
