CrossDOS consists of the following files:
On Workbench disk:
Devs/mfm.device
L/CrossDOSFileSystem
L/FileSystem_Trans/DANSK.crossdos
L/FileSystem_Trans/INTL.crossdos
L/FileSystem_Trans/MAC.crossdos
On Storage disk:
DosDrivers/PC0
DosDrivers/PC0.info
DosDrivers/PC1
DosDrivers/PC1.info
On Extras disk:
Tools/Commodities/CrossDOS
Tools/Commodities/CrossDOS.info
(the latter is used for settings and not necessarily needed)
AFAIK you can easily copy the files to the right places on your 2.x Workbench and use it.

He is talking about the Storage drawer of Workbench (that is, Workbench:Storage).

The "wb for the A1200" (I think it is 3.0) consists of 6 floppy disks: Workbench, Extras, Fonts, Storage, Locale and Install. When installed on hard disks, all files from these disks are in seperate drawers on the boot partition usualy named like the floppies.

well on wb 2.05 i have wb, extras and fonts.
if i take the files from the workbench3.0 and extras3.0 and put them on my wb2.05 and extras 2.05 disks, would that work? and where should i put the files from the storage disk?

IMHO it should suffice to copy the files from the 3.0 Workbench disk to the 2.0 WB disk. Then insert the 3.0 storage disk and double click on the PC0 icon. This should enable you to handle PC floppies. As PC0 and PC1 are quite small files (btw they are readable and editable text), you could copy them to the 2.0 WB, too, no matter where. As already said, the CrossDOS commodity from the Extras disk is not needed for usual work.
