I have found this games, not in TOSEC yet, not in any members rare game threads:
Lords of the Realm (1995)(Impressions)(De)(AGA)[cr DLT] German!!!
Reeder, Der (1995)(Software 2000)(De)(AGA)[h TRSI] AGA!!!
I have uploaded both to Magix FTP.
Note: To start "Lords of the Realm" is a little bit tricky (WinUAE).
Only if i remove cr-intro game starts.
Maybe its a configuration problem.Perhaps it starts on real amiga, i dont know.:confused

Drats, I have Lords of the Realm and don't know that it is rare :banghead ;)
For me Lords of the Realm works fine with WinUAE. I use the A1200 4 MB expanded quickstart config. Maybe you have to insert the second disk in the second floppy (I have done so).
Thanks for 'Der Reeder' in AGA maimai :great

I think the german version of this game is rare, its not in Tosec, not available on various known ROM-pages.
Available versions of this game are all in english language.
Maybe any TOSEC-memmber can pick up this game to insert this german version in the next Tosec-release.

Nice find :)
I also hope that a new release cames out someday and i think it will, just have no idea when :P
About those 'new' files getting into Amiga DATs, it only depends on the renamers to add them, unfortunately i think most of them are not active by now and idoru (which is the maintainer for most of those dats:P) has been very busy lately.
Apart from that, other things are being done that are very time consuming and will probably be ended before even think about making releases (like checking scene groups names/abbr used over all dats (following one thread about it in this part of the forum :P) and some other things, but since currently only i and other guy are working on this part it will probably take much more time :()

Now that you know what / what isn't in TOSEC, personally I think it would be best to:
... Delete the old packs off Magix's ftp to avoid confusion.
... Created a new pack with the files listed in my above post (http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=458303&postcount=35) and then reupload.

I just meant that some of the old files inside the original WinRAR archives shouldn't really be there considering they are actually in TOSECS. It's a bit misleading IMHO...

I have CRC-checked all ADFs.
Nevertheless, maybe it is better a second member can do a CRC-check once more, to be sure!
Ran the files through ClrMAMEPro using "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM).dat" and none were found / identified ;)

1:
Is there a recommended format for renaming ADFs to TOSEC-format?
TOSEC-ADFs sometimes are a little bit different:
Example 1:Shadow Fighter (1994)(Gremlin)[cr PSG](Disk 4 of 4)[t +3 Freezers]
Example 2:Shadow Fighter (1994)(Gremlin)(Disk 4 of 4)[cr PSG][t +3 Freezers]
2:
Is there a list available for Abbreviations of cr/tr-groups?

For the first question : The 'new' format is to put the Disk info before any crack/trainer/fix info (so it's the second one).
For the second question : I also wanna know where this info is available :)

You are right. This is my opinion, too.:agree
Oh, there is one more question.
If the tainer is located on disk 4, i should rename like this:
Shadow Fighter (1994)(Gremlin)(Disk 4 of 4)[cr PSG][t +3 Freezers]
and not: Shadow Fighter (1994)(Gremlin)(Disk 1 of 4)[cr PSG][t +3 Freezers] ?

Hi maimai,
DamienD already answered most of your questions so i just want to say that the current TNC format is:
Title version (demo) (Year)(Publisher)(System)(Video)(Country)(Language)(Copyright status)(Development status)(Media Type)(Media Label)[Dump info flags][more info]
also note that the dump flags have a strict order that is:
[cr][f][h][m][p][t][tr][o][u][v][b][a][!]
If you want to know more about TNC just ask. :)
And for the scene groups abbreviations, i'm trying to get a verified list of known abbreviations used in TOSEC but like all things in TOSEC i really don't know how much time it will take so you can keep using the ones present in that thread. :p

Hey! This -Fly Harder (1993)(Starbyte)[h Dynamix](Disk 1 of 2)[t +5 Dynamix]- is very interesting because this game is a very hard one and it doesn't have any inbuilt cheating system. Also that Gadget - Lost in time trainer is interesting because this game seems to be a pretty good but hardly anyone knows this game!

WOW! MUCHOS GRACIAS MAI-MAI!!
There was a Gold of Aztecs trainer! I must check it if it would be a version with unlimited energy. I usually hate those unlimited energy options but this game is a hard in a sadomatic way! Maybe it would be a finally playable and I would see on my Amy's screen that wonderful THE END picture! ;) (Just look at the bear belly grandpa in the background!)

Yep. They might've been released separately at first, but were compiled together later. I believe all of them are available in one form or another. I found the archive, it's called afl-pack.lha. It has Black Crypt, Elvira II, Eye of the Beholder, and Shadowlands.

Lords of the Rising Sun is not bad of a game. Still haven't finished with the highest ranking and color.
The Red Sector trainer for Ivanhoe is pretty good! They actually did it right by not skipping the title screen. This is the first trainer from back then that has done this properly.

NP. Since these are ADOS games, depending on your memory configuration and how the trainers are added, the trainers sometimes don't work properly. You might consider looking for pre-patched versions if that happens. Good luck!

Don't worry I'll do this now as I've just been through all the ADFs in all packs and made some naming changes. Mainly moving the crack / trainer information after the disk information and also using scene group appreviations where possible ;)
The new single pack "TrainerPack01(not in TOSEC).7z" will contain 117 ADF files, see attached text file...
you know guys? between this and the corrections in the tosec renaming thread, i really would like to see a new DAT :)

you know guys? between this and the corrections in the tosec renaming thread, i really would like to see a new DAT :)
There will be one for sure, just really don't know when. The adf dats are mostly maintained by [idoru] with the help of some other guys (some of them are from here :p), i really don't know how they used to work but since [idoru] has been busy / away for some weeks now i can't say anything more, i know there are some new and updated stuff, the toseciso dats are released frequently but the others not so much and so i can only say an official release will be done only when everything is ready.
There was a time when it was really ready, everything was ok (near the new year) but then again people got busy and it got delayed.
Currently we don't have access to .org (Grendel MIA) and i decided to make some big changes / checks over the entire collection to ensure more acurate sets and get away with lots of mistakes, since this means LOTS of work and only i and TKaos are doing it currently ([idoru] is away) so it will take more time than we would like it to :(
Anyway thanks for helping out finding / renaming new sets :)

Hi All,
I've uploaded some Diskimages (mostly Games) to Magix's FTP. (Dir = Users/logix)
They're all not in the 'latest' TOSEC-DAT.
I've already renamed them to TOSEC-Standards, but feel free to make Corrections.
Another Thing:
To [idoru] (or anyone else in Charge of the DAT's):
---RELEASE SOME NEW DAT'S !!!--- it's getting Boring (and Confusing)! :rolleyes
There's been so much new Disks, Corrections, etc... in the last 2 Years. So please --> Release!
It's never going to be 100%, so don't try to keep the DAT's for Yourself until they're 'Complete' - Thanks
Sorry for the criticism, but it has to be Said.
I've send all this and more to BippyM over 2 Years ago for renaming, but nothing has Happend :crying
So I did it Myself. No Prob. (I know, Bippy has 1000's of Images to Check and rename)

There are some interesting disks in your upload. I will have a look if I can spot any error (and I'm sure Damien will also do that ;))
I second your comment about the TOSEC DAT. Maybe there could at least be a WIP (work in progress) version.

i did send his way 50 Mb of non tosec stuff but he lost it. then i lost it, so the morale here is do it yourself! then post it here for eventual correction! (as you did) ;)
I second your comment about the TOSEC DAT. Maybe there could at least be a WIP (work in progress) version.
i'm against WIPs of dats: they were released in the past, but imho they end to confuse people like me that are very disordinated. :/
especially in case you loose some part of your collection and the DAT and then you keep asking for a newish one and get referred to the old one instead etc...
instead, people who feels up to it, culd ask for it by pm to someone involved, but better it is to release only definitive, largely available dats imho :)

I don't think that it would be good if a TOSEC Amiga DAT gets released now because we are still fixing errors and releasing just a part of the new stuff wouldn't be nice to people that are waiting for other systems.
If new Amiga DATs get released earlier then everyone will start asking us about the other DATs that they are waiting for.
Marcuz
28 September 2008, 12:33
i didn't knew that the various system dats were released all together, considering also that they are mantained by different people and the various collections have different timings in the growth (for instance, amiga gets probably more thinkering than nes at that).
however, thanks for the information! :)
btw, Damien, would be useful maybe to move the tosec posts in a thread of their own? or merged to an existing one?

[idoru] maintains the Amiga dats so before anything is released/updated he will need to give the nodand make all the needed changes!!
I have not renamed anything in a while (It takes a lot of time, and I am short of that!).
I plan to get going again soon but alas I need to organise my HD's, do a full scan and get anything I am missing (HD death doesn't help!!). I also have quite a few rare ISO's in the post winging their way to me, so expect even more rare and new stuff :D
Thanks to all for the name fixes and finds, but it is going to take a while, and the longer [idoru] is away the harder it'll be to sort out!

Hi all :)
first, thanks for everyone that keeps showing up and helping out finding, renaming and fixing new or already known sets :)
About the those last posts about releasing and keeping dats:
To start i want to say that (at least since i joined) we by no means keep the dats just because its fun or leet to have them and nobody else does... thats stupid and i think that the ones that are left working on the project are a bit more mature than that :p
Yes, i know its a bit sad that we don't have new TOSEC dats for so long, that was one of the reasons that made me want to help out, to make it go further and don't stop / die but as i have already explained somewhere here in EAB, the delays were caused by some problems we kept having.
The last release (2007-04-13) was also delayed because there was no one around to fix TIM and Grendel wanted to release it in TIM, since nobody was available it was done using only clrmame dats.
After that there were some lack of activity for most of the people around and near xmas Grendel appeared and tried to made a new release with some new datfiles and using TIM but unfortunately it took some more time and he disappeared again.
In the next months we lost .info (controlled by someone that is not around) and now we don't have access to .org (Grendel MIA).
For those who don't know TOSEC is not just about Amiga dats, there are 740+ dats for lots of different systems and it worked +- this way: Each dat has a group of renamers working on them (a maintainer and a couple of helpers), when dat was ready it was uploaded by the maintained and after some time the new ones were checked and a new TOSEC official release was done. With time and lack of activity / interest most of renamers started disappearing and we ended with very few guys interested in helping + some others wanting new dats to be out without trying to help.
Currently [idoru] is the leader and i guess he decides when it will be released :p, the ISO dats are +- alive i think (don't have much contact with it) as you can see over toseciso.org and you can even download WIP ones.
The others were +- stopped, there was some work done with invalid TNC sets and some changes in dats from few guys.
Since [idoru] is busy we decided to make some big checks over some of the info used in TNC and it will take more time than i would like with the current manpower we have (i, TKaos and now gorski is helping a bit too :p)
So please don't complain and start asking for releases, it will not help us in anyway and understand that if we haven't released nothing yet doesn't mean we don't want, just that we couldn't do it for various reasons :(
(sorry for the long and probably bad written post :p)

Ok guys, here's a DAT file to help ensure that all the ADFs in packs uploaded / deleted / updated are correctly named etc. ;)
To use, follow these instructions:
Download ClrMAMEPro from here (http://www.clrmame.com/download.htm).
Extract ClrMAMEPro to your hard drive e.g. C:\CLRMAMEPRO.
Extract the .dat file from the attached Trainer Pack (not in TOSEC).zip to the directory C:\CLRMAMEPRO\datfiles.
Put all your extracted .ADF files into a directory e.g. C:\___ORIGINAL.
Start ClrMAMEPro and click OK at the welcome screen.
Under the <NEW DATFILES> section, double-click on "Trainer Pack (not in TOSEC)" in the Profile window and then click Default.
Click the Rebuild button, click the ... button under Folder --> Source and point to the directory where your files are stored e.g. C:\___ORIGINAL.
Click the ... button under Folder --> Destination and point to the directory where you want your rebuilt files to go e.g. C:\___RENAMED.
Untick Compress Files, tick Remove Matched Sourcefiles (optional) and then click the Rebuild... button.
You will now have all the ADF files renamed correctly and sitting in the directory "C:\___RENAMED\Trainer Pack (not in TOSEC)" ;)

So that it's not too time consuming, I think the best thing to do is as follows:
Creating / uploading of single 7zip files:
I will try to do this soon after any new "normal" pack is released.
Creating / uploading of verified "large" packs:
A "large" pack should be created / uploaded after maimai has uploaded 10 "normal" packs.
Creating the DAT files:
I will create these for the full set after every "large" pack is uploaded.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions are most welcome ;)

Just glancing at some I can see several that are wrong.
Give me an example,please.
Maybe i have to check closer.:(

Found some mistakes :
Beast Busters is 1992 not 1990
Big Run is 1992 not 1991 and should only have (Storm) as the publisher
Ork is 1992 not 1991
'Silk Worm (1988)(Tecmo)' should be 'Silkworm (1989)(Virgin)'
Wolfchild should have only (Core) as the publisher
all found by looking at the latest TOSEC dat : Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM).dat ;)

Just glancing at some I can see several that are wrong.
Checked only that list now since I knew Silk Worm was wrong, most of the errors maimai made are publisher and year, here the new filenames for some of the ones above:
Alien Storm (1991)(U.S. Gold)[cr VF][t +3 Supplex]
Beast Busters (1992)(Activision)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr SKR][t +8 LGD]
(TOSEC files are 1992, HOL entry shows 1991, so i'm not sure about this one)
Big Run (1992)(Storm)[cr CSL][t +3 LGD]
Ork (1992)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr SKR][t +4 AFL]
Ork (1992)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr SKR][t +8 LGD]

Now i know, i have to compare with HOL database or last TOSEC-dat file, to be sure.
I dont have last TOSEC-release,its an older release, where many ADFs are not correct named, i think.
Thank you for the tip, i will try to become better in TOSEC-renaming.

As far as i know it's "Silk Worm"

@CD: I own the last TOSEC-dat, its necassery for comparing, what isnt in last TOSEC-release.
I compare with:crc32-check
Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM).dat
adderly.dat
Trainer Pack (not in TOSEC).dat
...........so i always know, what is needed.

Exactly :agree
... HOL has it listed as "Silk Worm"
... The latest public TOSEC DATs have it listed as "Silkworm"
... MAME has the arcade version listed as "Silk Worm"
It's best to go with HOL and the MAME naming IMHO, therefore a few files in the latest public TOSEC DATs should be changed ;)

Trainer Pack 07:
Alianator (1991)(P.S.)[h TRSi][t +5 AFL][Amiga Fun 91-12]
should be
Amiga Fun 91-12 (1991-11-22)(CompuTec Verlag)[cr TRSi][t +5 AFL][Alianator]
The intro of TRSi says it's "de-protected" so i guess better to use [cr]

It seems that many game developers weren't that picky when they typed the game name. Good examples are some games with the ingame title screen, the name in the box and the name in the disk - they all can vary, it's not that unusual.

about the Silk Worm vs Silkworm thing, no matter what is the correct form, it needs to be fixed in TOSEC dats since it is used in both forms :(
(31 times Silkworm and 30 times Silk Worm)
Title: Silkworm
Dat File Sets
Amstrad CPC - Games - [DSK] 2
Commodore Amiga - Games - SPS 2
Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] 11
Commodore C64 - Games - [LNX] 1

Sinclair ZX Spectrum - Games - [SCL] 1

Title: Silk Worm

Commodore C64 - Games - [P00] 1
Commodore C64 - Games - [PRG] 2

Anyway if Silkworm is the correct form, the errors are not in Amiga dats and so they don't mean much here.
Nice finds maimai and great work from most of you getting setnames corrected :)

I've learnt my lesson by having to recheck / rename all of the above... I really should have checked the game "names" and "dates" as well as the "structure" / "cracking" / "hacked" / "modified" / "trainer" etc. options...
It much easier to do a thorough check on your small packs each time they are released than to have to do the whole collection at once :lol
I'll definitely be doing this in future :agree

Trainer Pack 07:
Alianator (1991)(P.S.)[h TRSi][t +5 AFL][Amiga Fun 91-12]
should be
Amiga Fun 91-12 (1991-11-22)(CompuTec Verlag)[cr TRSi][t +5 AFL][Alianator]
The intro of TRSi says it's "de-protected" so i guess better to use [cr]
If this is a magazine coverdisk then ensure that it is not an [a]. Also just because someone said they have cracked it doesn't mean they have sooooo.. The original needs checking ;)

@Damien
although I do not want to question your efforts you've put into this, I'd rather stick to "Domark" than "Tengen - Domark" because we ought not expand the (already extremely long) file name length for no obvious reason.
Nor would I think it's important to always give subtitles of games because they too can make filenames insanely long.

Could anyone please post the 2006-11-19 dat in the zone or show me where to get them? Mine is about half a year older (2006-04-29)

HOL means "Domark" only.

I have the same opinion like Andreas, to make the filenames as short as possible.

I think because the rest of the renaming follows the TOSEC 'rules', these should be named accordingly :agree
@Damien
I put down my head in shame master for failing you ;) Good work :)
DamienD
01 October 2008, 23:32
Actually Race Drivin' is a strange one...
All current TOSEC DATs have it down as 1990 while HOL has it as 1992. We'll go with HOL hey ;)
...this of course means that all Race Drivin' files in "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM)" are incorrectly named.
Belgarath
01 October 2008, 23:38
yes Race Drivin' is 92 and it is Tengen - Domark
Whether you want short filenames or not does not come into it, if you are going to give them tosec names then you need to do it to tosec specifications.
Otherwise come up with your own naming convention :)

Personally I don't think Colgate should be down as publisher, but I'm not going to change it in HOL (at least not yet). I'd stick with Silverrock for the tosec name.

02 October 2008, 01:33
Hmmm, while doing some renaming I noticed that sometimes in the TOSEC DATs there are "country" or "language" appeviations in both lower case or sentence case e.g. "de-en" and "Dk" / "Fr" / "It" / "Pl" :confused
Spoke with Sir Belgo about this and he offered his insight / wisdom ;)
Unfortunately I've no idea where the latest TNC is and my memory is somewhat shakey but basically there's a language flag and a country flag but the country flag only gets used if the language is different then what you'd expect i.e.
Nebulus (19xx)(United Software)(De)(en)[1587]
country flag first followed by language
so looking at that country should always start with an uppercase letter and the language flag is always lowercase.
so if you saw (De) on it's own then it's the country, the language is the same so there's no need for a language flag
if it had two languages like english and german then it doesn't get a country flag but it does get a language flag which is always lowercase so (en-de).
hope that makes sense :)
Yeah, I think so. Cheers :great
...that means that I need to change 2 entries in the maimai pack:
Cedric and the Lost Sceptre (1995)(neo)(En-De)(Disk 1 of 6)[cr HF][t +4 HF].adf
*** changed to ***
Cedric and the Lost Sceptre (1995)(neo)(en-de)(Disk 1 of 6)[cr HF][t +4 HF].adf
Cedric and the Lost Sceptre (1995)(neo)(En-De)(Disk 2 of 6)[cr HF].adf
*** changed to ***
Cedric and the Lost Sceptre (1995)(neo)(en-de)(Disk 2 of 6)[cr HF].adf
Updated the full pack, single 7zip files and here's a new DAT... Hopefully that is everything and no more changes need to be made :agree

i do! look: belg-a-rath! it has exactly the sound of someone shaking strongly a dead dried up rat covered in molasses, for unknown purposes; action that, in fact, is the meaning of the name Belgarath.
why one would want to do such a thing in the first place, it is, of course, unknown, as much as who it was the first one to try.
however, the molasses is told to have been danish.
On the other hand, i'll wait a couple of days, from now, on to ever rename something. you guys inspire me so much confidence! :cheese

Language
The language used in game.
Some systems will have a standard language, and this should be omitted from the individual entries, for example, Atmos Oric is predominantly a French system, so in an Atmos Oric datfile only non‐French software would need this field entering (so you don't end marking all sets (fr)). Typically, English only titles do not require marking as such.
In cases of more than two languages or countries being required, (Mx) is used to represent multiple languages, where x is the number of languages.
Ex: (M3) for 3 languages
Ex: (M4) for 4 languages
Ex: "Legend of TOSEC, The (1986)(Devstudio)(M3)"
In the case of two languages being required, both are given separated by a hyphen:
Ex: (en‐fr) Contains English and French versions
Ex: (es-pt) Contains Spanish and Portuguese versions
Ex: (de-fr) Contains Deutsch and French versions
NOTE: When 2 languages are in use they should be alphabetically ordered, if one is english then it always comes first [eg. (en-xx)].

Thats it, hope it helped, i've already said it before but all flags have to follow an specific order and when both are used, language is always after the country flag.
Anything more just ask :)

I would presume some of those are in the wrong order, because I always thought the languages were in alphabetical order?
So (En-De) would actually be (De-En) for example.
PandMonium
02 October 2008, 02:35
humm good question,
i have the idea that when En or en is present they always tried to put it in the first place [(en-de) instead of (de-en)], about the others i have no idea if there is a rule and if the rule is to use alphabetical order but i guess it would be better to have some rule, hope someone knows it or we will have to wait for [idoru] explanation.
