Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place...

Under UAE (A1200 2MB/8MB Fast) I'm having weird problems with the pre-installed builds of DataStorm and X-It (from http://www.whdownload.com).

The games both appear to load, but the screen is just full of garbage like in the attached image.

Any idea what could be causing this? I've had no problem (so far) with any other WHDLoad game...

Do you have a registered WHDLoad key? At least X-it need one. I noticed a kind of blue screen in Datastorm too, but the game starts after a few seconds.

I'm using WHDLoadCD32 (Because I'm trying to port these over)...but yeah, I guess I should register.

I've left DataStorm for half an hour and it just displays random garbage on the screen...

Well, WHDLoadCD32 was designed for the CD32 console. It should work with the normal WHDLoad on your Amiga 1200, right?

Normally games work OK with an unregistered version though? Using WHDLoadCD32 under the CD32 config cuases the same result as WHDLoad (unregistered) under the A1200 config. All I get is a blue screen full of random garbled gfx.

Also, I should add that the game runs fine from the cracked version I found on planetemu (adf), but I'm having no luck with this preinstalled WHDLoad version.

Most of the games works fine without a key. Some don't work in general, some lacks the save function or the cheats.

I meant that Datastorm works fine with a A1200 config and the normal WHDLoad program, never tried it with WHDLoadCD32.

Ah - well it's not working fine here with normal WHDLoad or the CD32 one in UAE. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Actually, please can someone post up a working version here instead and I'll see if I have any luck with that? I'm using the latest WHDLoad and this file: http://www.whdownload.com/games/Pack-D-2007-01-30/Datastorm_v1.0_1555.zip

This is indeed an outdated version. I've zoned the recent v1.2. ;)

Nice one mate! That works perfectly :) :) :)

Have you got a preinstalled version of X-it as well?

Oh - and DataStorm rocks btw ;)

X-it v1.0 is the latest version. The game needs a registered key as i said before. ;)

Alright - I'll register this weekend and see if I have any better luck.
